CrimeBranch – Delhi Police Transfers Amar Colony Firing Probe to Crime Branch
CrimeBranch – A fresh investigation is now underway after Delhi Police handed over the Amar Colony firing case to its Crime Branch to speed up efforts to identify and arrest those involved in the attack on a teenager in Southeast Delhi.

Crime Branch Takes Over Investigation
Delhi Police has shifted the Amar Colony shooting investigation to the Crime Branch as authorities continue their search for the suspects linked to the firing incident that left a 17-year-old boy critically injured. Officials believe the transfer will help accelerate the probe and allow specialized teams to examine every aspect of the case in greater detail.
The shooting took place on the evening of May 25 at an eatery located in the Amar Colony area of Southeast Delhi. According to police officials, a PCR call reporting gunfire was received around 7:54 pm. Soon after the information was received, local police personnel, senior officers, and forensic experts reached the spot to begin the initial investigation.
Dispute Reportedly Escalated Into Violence
Preliminary findings suggest the teenager was sitting with a group of friends, including a girl, at the restaurant when several boys passed by their table. During the brief interaction, one of the boys allegedly brushed against the victim’s chair, which reportedly led to an argument between the two groups.
Police sources stated that the group initially walked away after the confrontation. However, investigators believe they returned to the location within a few minutes. During the second encounter, one of the accused allegedly fired at the teenager before escaping from the area along with the others involved.
Officials confirmed that only a single bullet was fired during the incident. No other customer or staff member present at the eatery suffered injuries during the attack.
Teenager Undergoing Treatment at AIIMS Trauma Centre
The injured boy, who lives in Chattarpur Enclave, was first taken to Moolchand Hospital immediately after the incident. He was later shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for advanced medical treatment due to the seriousness of his injuries.
Police officials said the victim’s father runs a laundry business in the city. Senior officers who visited the hospital reportedly found the teenager unconscious and placed on ventilator support. Medical authorities have described his condition as critical but stable.
CCTV Footage and Technical Surveillance Under Review
Investigation teams have continued to collect evidence from the crime scene as part of the ongoing probe. Crime Branch officials, along with forensic experts, are examining CCTV footage from the restaurant and nearby areas to establish the exact sequence of events before and after the shooting.
Authorities are also using technical surveillance methods to trace the route used by the accused while fleeing the location. Investigators are trying to identify each individual linked to the attack and determine whether the incident was a sudden act of violence or involved prior planning.
The firing incident has raised concerns over public safety in busy commercial areas of the national capital. Police officials have assured that all available resources are being used to locate the suspects and ensure swift legal action in the case.
