Details of the Accident Emerge

According to police officials, the accident took place near Chilakaladona village in the Mantralayam mandal of Kurnool district. A Bolero vehicle reportedly collided with a ready-mix concrete lorry, leading to severe casualties. Five individuals died on the spot due to the intensity of the impact, while three others succumbed to their injuries later during medical treatment.

Initial reports suggest that the collision was sudden and left little time for either vehicle to avoid the crash. Authorities are examining possible causes, including road conditions and driver error, though a detailed investigation is still underway.

Prime Minister Announces Financial Assistance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences, calling the incident deeply distressing. In a message shared by the Prime Minister’s Office, he offered prayers for the victims and their families while wishing for the swift recovery of those injured.

The government has announced financial relief for those affected. An ex gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to the families of each deceased victim, while individuals who sustained injuries in the accident will receive Rs 50,000. The assistance will be distributed through the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.

Injured Shifted for Immediate Medical Care

Officials confirmed that around 10 to 12 people were injured in the collision. Emergency services responded promptly, and the injured were transported to Emmiganur Hospital for treatment. Medical teams are currently monitoring their condition, and efforts are being made to ensure they receive appropriate care.

The quick response by local authorities and healthcare workers is believed to have helped prevent further loss of life. However, some of the injured are reported to be in serious condition, and updates on their recovery are awaited.

Victims Identified as Pilgrims

Police have identified the deceased as pilgrims who were traveling from the Chikkamagaluru region of Karnataka. They were reportedly on a धार्मिक journey when the accident occurred. The news has deeply affected their hometown, where families and community members are mourning the sudden loss.

Authorities are coordinating with officials in Karnataka to assist the families and ensure the smooth handling of post-incident procedures, including the transportation of bodies and provision of necessary support.
