Ketan Agarwal Murder Case – Police Probe Reveals Alleged Motive Behind Pune Realtor’s Death

Ketan Agarwal Murder Case – The investigation into the death of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal has taken a significant turn after police claimed that the prime accused allegedly admitted her unwillingness to go ahead with an arranged marriage, making it a central focus of the case.

Ketan agarwal murder motive probe

The investigation into the death of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal continues to gather pace as police examine what they describe as a planned conspiracy behind the incident. According to investigators, the accused, Siya Goyal, allegedly told officials during questioning that she believed ending Agarwal’s life was easier than cancelling their arranged marriage. Police claim she feared disappointing her family if she refused to marry him, and this allegedly influenced her decision. The statements attributed to her are now being verified as part of the wider investigation.

Police Expand Investigation Into Alleged Conspiracy

Authorities have intensified the inquiry by examining the roles of both Siya Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary. Investigators are collecting digital records, questioning relatives, and analysing communication data to determine whether the alleged crime was pre-planned. Officials say every aspect of the relationship between the accused is being scrutinised to establish the sequence of events leading up to Agarwal’s death.

Police allege that Ketan Agarwal died after falling from a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Investigators believe the incident was not accidental and claim that the accused had planned the murder because Goyal no longer wished to marry Agarwal, despite their wedding being scheduled for November.

Family Members Questioned During Ongoing Probe

As part of the investigation, Pune Rural Police and Lonavala Police have formed six dedicated teams to handle different aspects of the case. Officers have questioned Siya Goyal’s parents at Lonavala City Police Station, while her brother, Sahil Goyal, has also been called in for another round of questioning.

According to investigators, Sahil informed police that he was acquainted with Chetan Chaudhary. He reportedly stated that his sister first met Chaudhary during one of his cricket matches and later became closer to him after meeting again at a mutual friend’s Diwali gathering last year. Police are examining these details to understand how the relationship developed over time.

Digital Evidence Under Examination

Investigators say electronic evidence is playing a crucial role in the case. Police claim that call detail records indicate Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary remained in frequent contact throughout the year. According to officials, the pair allegedly exchanged more than 2,000 phone calls since January, with the combined duration of those conversations exceeding 238 hours.

Authorities believe this communication data could provide valuable insights into the alleged planning behind the incident. Police are also working to recover deleted information from the mobile phones of both accused, hoping the digital evidence will help establish the alleged conspiracy.

Defence Maintains Different Version

While investigators continue to strengthen their case, the defence has presented a different account. Police said Siya Goyal’s parents have denied ever meeting or speaking with Chetan Chaudhary. At the same time, Goyal’s legal counsel has maintained that Chaudhary was only her friend and has disputed the allegations being made during the investigation.

The case remains under active investigation, with police continuing to collect evidence, question witnesses, and verify all claims before filing further legal proceedings.
