Crime – Teenage Dispute Turns Fatal in Delhi’s Dayalpur Area
Crime – A 16-year-old boy lost his life after a violent altercation involving three minors in northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur locality, police confirmed on Thursday. Investigators believe the incident stemmed from ongoing harassment, as the victim was reportedly bullying one of the accused prior to the attack.
Police Respond to Emergency Call
Authorities were alerted on Wednesday about a stabbing in the Nehru Vihar area of Dayalpur. When officers arrived at Street No. 13, they discovered the teenager lying unconscious with severe injuries. He was rushed to JPC Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Following standard procedure, the body was later transferred to GTB Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A senior police official stated that initial findings indicated the involvement of multiple attackers.
Investigation Reveals Motive
During preliminary questioning, police learned that three juveniles were allegedly responsible for the assault. Officials registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched a detailed investigation.
Forensic experts examined the crime scene and gathered key evidence. Shortly after, all three suspects were taken into custody. Police also recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack.
According to statements given during interrogation, the accused claimed that the victim had been repeatedly bullying one of them, which led to the violent confrontation.
Separate Case in Bawana Raises Concerns
In a separate incident earlier this year, authorities apprehended four juveniles in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old man in northwest Delhi’s Bawana area.
The victim, identified as Vicky, was found dead on January 28 in DSIIDC Sector-5 near UER-II. His throat had been slit with a sharp weapon, prompting a murder investigation.
Arrests Made After Tip-Off
After weeks of investigation, police received a crucial lead on March 24, which resulted in the arrest of four minors linked to the case. The weapon used in the crime was also recovered.
During questioning, the suspects revealed that a physical altercation between the victim and one of the juveniles escalated into a fatal attack.
Rising Incidents Involving Juveniles
Both cases have brought attention to the increasing involvement of minors in serious crimes across the capital. Law enforcement officials continue to stress the importance of early intervention and conflict resolution among youth to prevent such tragic outcomes.
Authorities are proceeding with legal action in both cases as investigations continue.
