BJP – Nitin Nabin Reviews Jammu Outreach Strategy During Two-Day Visit
BJP – Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin wrapped up his two-day visit to Jammu on Tuesday after holding a series of meetings with party representatives, elected members and organisational leaders. The discussions focused on strengthening the BJP’s public engagement, expanding its local network and reviewing political priorities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meetings with RSS and party leadership
Nabin began his final day in Jammu with a meeting at Keshav Bhavan, where he interacted with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh functionaries. The meeting was followed by discussions with senior BJP leaders at the party’s Trikuta Nagar headquarters.
Later, he chaired a conference involving sitting MPs, MLAs, former legislators, District Development Council members and local panchayat representatives. Party leaders said the session examined ways to improve coordination between elected representatives and workers at the grassroots level.
The BJP president also led a State Core Group meeting, where senior leaders discussed the party’s political direction in the Union Territory. The review included organisational planning, public contact programmes and preparations for future political challenges.
Focus on beneficiaries of government programmes
According to BJP MLA R.S. Pathania, Nabin spent more than two hours in discussions with MPs, MLAs, former legislators and other party representatives. He said the BJP president issued directions aimed at increasing contact with people who have benefited from central government welfare programmes.
Pathania said party workers and elected representatives were asked to meet beneficiaries individually and explain the role of national flagship schemes in delivering assistance. He added that the leadership wanted workers to communicate the benefits of these programmes directly to people across different areas.
The BJP has been seeking to reinforce its presence in Jammu and Kashmir by increasing its engagement with local communities and highlighting government welfare initiatives. The meetings in Jammu were seen as part of that wider organisational effort.
Youth interaction during Yuva Samwad
During the visit, Nabin also attended a Yuva Samwad programme and spoke with young BJP workers. He encouraged them to maintain regular contact with young people in their communities and involve them in public and political discussions.
Party leaders said the interaction focused on youth participation, local concerns and the role of young workers in strengthening the organisation. The BJP has placed increasing emphasis on youth outreach in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly through local-level programmes and direct engagement.
BJP comments on Jammu and Kashmir politics
Responding to questions about Nabin’s remarks that the BJP could form a government in Jammu and Kashmir in the future, Pathania said the party was currently serving as the Opposition and had no intention of attempting to destabilise the Omar Abdullah-led government.
He alleged that the present administration had not met expectations related to youth employment and development in several sectors. Pathania said the government would face political consequences based on its own performance.
He added that if the BJP forms a government in Jammu and Kashmir in the future, it would do so through its own electoral strength rather than by bringing down the existing administration.
Visit concludes with Vaishno Devi shrine prayers
Before departing for New Delhi, Nabin visited the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and offered prayers. The Jammu visit was his first trip to the Union Territory after taking charge as BJP national president.
The party said the visit helped senior leaders review the organisation’s local structure and set directions for greater public outreach in the coming months.
