If negotiations are completed successfully, Johnston would appear alongside Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, who became closely associated with the franchise through the blockbuster films released between 1999 and the early 2000s.
Rising Career Following Breakthrough Performance
Johnston’s rapid rise in the film industry has drawn considerable attention over the past year. He gained widespread recognition after starring in Obsession, an independent production made on a modest budget of approximately $750,000. The film earned strong praise after being acquired by Focus following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to become an unexpected commercial success, collecting more than $458 million at the global box office.
The remarkable performance of the film transformed Johnston from a relatively unfamiliar performer into one of Hollywood’s emerging talents.
