Weather –  The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has predicted a spell of moderate to heavy rainfall in several parts of the state over the next two days as multiple weather systems continue to influence regional conditions. Weather Systems Driving Rainfall

According to APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain, two active weather troughs are currently affecting Andhra Pradesh. One stretches from the North Andhra coast through Chhattisgarh and extends towards Maharashtra, while the second runs from Interior Karnataka across Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu before reaching the Comorin region. These atmospheric conditions are likely to produce widespread cloud cover along with scattered showers across different parts of the state.

Authorities said thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds may develop in several locations, increasing the possibility of localized disruptions. Residents have been advised to remain cautious and monitor official weather updates over the coming days.

Rain Expected Across Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema

The weather department expects isolated places in the Coastal Andhra region to receive light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms. Parts of Rayalaseema are also likely to witness light showers on June 29.

On June 30, similar weather conditions are expected to continue, with isolated areas across Andhra Pradesh forecast to receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Officials noted that rainfall intensity may vary from district to district depending on local weather developments.

Districts Likely to Receive Showers

Several districts are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall during the forecast period. These include Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Manyam, the Polavaram region, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru and NTR district. Other parts of the state may also receive light rainfall in scattered locations, contributing to cooler weather conditions.

The disaster management authority said weather conditions will remain dynamic, and additional advisories may be issued if necessary.

Rainfall Recorded on Sunday

The APSDMA also released rainfall figures recorded across Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. By 4 p.m., Mangalagiri in Guntur district registered the highest rainfall at 68 mm. Rajam in Vizianagaram district followed with 52 mm, while Kakumanu in Guntur district recorded 51 mm.

Other notable rainfall measurements included 45 mm in Tadepalli, 41 mm in Kavuluru of NTR district and 39 mm in Bhattiprolu of Bapatla district. Officials said these showers reflected the strengthening influence of the prevailing weather systems over the state.

Safety Advisory Issued for Residents and Farmers

Authorities have urged people to avoid standing beneath trees or taking shelter near large advertising hoardings during thunderstorms because of the risk posed by strong winds and lightning.

Farmers, agricultural labourers and cattle herders have been specifically advised to move to safe shelters immediately after hearing thunder. Officials also warned the public to stay away from snapped or damaged electricity lines that may result from heavy winds, as these can pose serious safety hazards. The disaster management authority emphasized that following official advisories and taking timely precautions can significantly reduce weather-related risks.
