Governance – Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced firm measures against illegal constructions on government land, signaling a stricter approach to governance and land management.
Bihar’s newly appointed Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has made it clear that unauthorized structures built on government land will not be tolerated, even if they belong to influential individuals. Speaking at a public gathering in Tarapur constituency, he emphasized that enforcement of rules would apply equally to all, including himself.
Firm Stand on Illegal Constructions
Addressing residents during his visit, the Chief Minister revealed that authorities had already initiated action in his own locality. He shared that a recent report indicated officials were preparing to remove a staircase attached to his house in Tarapur, as it allegedly stood on government land.
Choudhary underlined that the administration’s responsibility is to uphold the law without bias. According to him, any construction found on government property must be removed, regardless of ownership. He stressed that such steps are essential to ensure planned development and improve the overall infrastructure of the state.
Monthly Camps to Address Public Issues
In addition to land-related actions, the Chief Minister introduced a new initiative aimed at resolving public grievances more efficiently. He announced that two-day camps would be organized every month in each panchayat. These camps are expected to provide a platform for citizens to raise concerns directly and seek timely solutions.
Choudhary also issued a warning to government officials regarding delays in administrative work. He stated that if any officer keeps a file pending for more than a month, strict action will be taken. This move is intended to improve accountability and ensure faster delivery of public services.
Development Vision for Bihar
Highlighting the broader vision for the state, the Chief Minister referred to the national leadership’s goal of transforming Bihar into a developed region. He said that fulfilling this vision requires consistent efforts and stronger implementation of policies at every level.
Choudhary acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor, Nitish Kumar, who served as Chief Minister for nearly two decades. He noted that while significant progress had been made during that period, there is now a need to accelerate development initiatives to meet future challenges.
Monitoring Local Administration
The Chief Minister also pointed out concerns regarding the functioning of block offices, circle offices, and police stations across the state. He described their current condition as unsatisfactory and announced that the Chief Minister’s Office would directly monitor these institutions.
During his interaction with citizens, Choudhary received several complaints related to delays and inefficiencies at local administrative levels. These issues, he said, highlight the need for closer supervision and improved coordination among departments.
Leadership Transition in Bihar
Samrat Choudhary assumed office as Chief Minister on April 15, following the resignation of Nitish Kumar a day earlier. The leadership change marked the formation of a new government under the National Democratic Alliance, with the Bharatiya Janata Party taking the lead.
Since taking charge, Choudhary has focused on governance reforms, administrative accountability, and development-oriented policies. His recent announcements indicate a push toward stricter law enforcement and more responsive public administration.
