Demand Raised in Assembly During Budget Session

The issue was brought up on the fifth day of the budget session at the Bhararisain Assembly on Friday. Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Shiv Arora raised the matter under Rule 300, urging the state government to begin preparing a policy aimed at regulating population growth in the hill state.

Arora suggested that rising population pressures could affect resources, infrastructure, and long-term development planning. He requested the government to evaluate the situation and consider drafting a legal framework that could address population management in a structured manner.

The demand triggered a broader discussion inside the assembly about governance priorities and demographic challenges facing the state.
