Patna Traffic Alert: From December 18 until July 2026, Bihta-Khagaul Road will be closed; please find other routes

Patna Traffic Alert: The Bihta-Khagaul main route will be totally blocked to automobile traffic on the section between Kanhuali and Shivala Chowk in a major step to support infrastructure development. The shutdown will take place between December 18 and July 15, 2026.

The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Danapur issued a directive on this restriction. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started substantial road construction on this particular portion, which necessitates the closure.

The government claims that the decision to stop all traffic is intended to avoid mishaps and guarantee the safe and efficient completion of the construction project.

Relief Strategies for Schools
The government has issued a partial relief measure due to the significant concentration of schools and institutions between Kanhuali and Shivala Chowk. Movement of vehicles will be strictly allowed during the following windows:

7:30 to 8:30 in the morning

2:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the afternoon

Officials pointed out that if school schedules alter in the future, these timeslots might be modified.

Alternative Routes That Have Been Designated
The government has set aside certain alternate routes in order to minimize interruption and preserve traffic flow between Bihta, Patna, and Arrah (Bhojpur):

Regarding Traffic from Bihta to Patna:

Route 1: Danapur Cantt from Bihta Chowk via Maner.

Route 2: Maner, Sherpur, Chhitnawan, Usri Bazar, Shivala, and Bihta Chowk to Patna.

Other Diversions:

For smaller vehicles, distinct alternate routes have been found.

Additionally, designated routes for vehicles traveling between Patna and Arrah (Bhojpur) have been mapped.

Appeal of Administration
To prevent disruption, the local government has urged the people to use the approved alternate routes. It is strongly advised that commuters obey traffic laws and assist law enforcement. The government emphasized that in order to finish the development on schedule and provide much improved road amenities in the future, public collaboration is crucial.
