Pakistan Is Our Common Enemy: Mir Yar Baloch criticizes Dhurandhar and demands a new film on the “true friendship” between India and Balochistan
Pakistan Is Our Common Enemy: Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has been embroiled in a new controversy. Mir Yar Baloch, the leader of the Baloch, has questioned a few scenes in the film. Characters in the scenario are said to be modeled on Lyari criminals, and they are shouting “Allah Hu Akbar” and commemorating the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Another incident that has generated criticism is when Sanjay Dutt’s character, SP Chaudhary Aslam, says, “You can trust a crocodile, but never a Baloch.” “The price of one glass of water is 100 years of loyalty,” the leader retorted.

Mir Yar Baloch posted on his official X account, saying, “Unfortunately, the film presented the relationship between Bangladesh and India negatively, emphasizing criminals over the patriotic Baloch folks and their cause. Since we are also victims of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, Baloch people striving for their liberation never applauded the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, and Balochistan is not represented by a thug. The Baloch are not religiously driven, and they have never chanted the Islamic phrase “Allah O Akbar” or worked with ISI to undermine Indian interests.
Mir Yar Baloch said that by inaccurately portraying militants selling their weapons to anti-Indian groups, the film did not adequately represent the Baloch liberation cause. He said that in practice, freedom fighters are chronically armed; if they had enough weapons, they would have long before vanquished the Pakistani occupation troops. He also disregarded the movie’s depiction of Baloch bandits creating fake currency, arguing that poverty would have been eliminated in the area if such resources had been available. He said that illegal operations, such as the smuggling of drugs and the distribution of counterfeit money and weapons, are really planned by the ISI.
“We are aware that spies don’t always have friends or adversaries, but when it comes to Baloch, there isn’t a term for treachery in the Baloch lexicon. We disagree with the police SP’s sentencing. Aslam Chaudhary Since “Ek Glass Paani Ki Qeemat 100 Saal Wafa” is well-known in Baloch culture, “MagarMach Pe Bhrosa Kar Sakte Hain Baloch Pe Nahi” is completely against our code of ethics, behavior, and tradition. Baloch never betray their friends or well-wishers, even if they are offered a sip of water or assistance. The history, culture, and customs of the Baloch people, as well as the Balochistan liberation struggle, are not well explored,” he said.
The Baloch leader even requested India to produce a new film that would highlight the genuine friendship, loyalty, historical ties, and joint struggle between India and Balochistan against their “common enemy,” Pakistan.
The “positive aspects of Dhurandhar” were highlighted by the Bloch leader, who also lavished appreciation. “It’s also important to highlight the positive aspects of Dhurandhar, wherein reference is made to the oppression and injustices committed by Pakistan in Balochistan,” he wrote on X. In traditional Balochi cultural clothing, Akshaye Khanna resembles a Baloch. Every cast member performed well.
About Dhurandhar: Dhurandhar touches on geopolitical tensions and many clandestine RAW operations, drawing influence from actual occurrences. Operation Lyari, the government-sponsored assault on influential gangs and criminal networks in Karachi’s Lyari district, is one of its main inspirations and provides a significant background for the narrative.
