FireSafety –  A fire that erupted in a residential apartment complex in Ghaziabad during the early hours of Tuesday led to a major rescue operation after several occupants became trapped inside the building. Emergency Teams Reach Scene Quickly

According to fire department officials, the blaze broke out on the third floor of SK Homes Avantika at around 3 a.m. Emergency services received an alert shortly after the incident began and immediately dispatched two fire engines to the location.

Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal said firefighters launched operations without delay upon reaching the apartment complex. Rescue personnel worked simultaneously to control the flames and evacuate people who were stranded on upper floors. Access points at ground level were opened to allow firefighting crews to enter the building, while ladders were used to reach residents who could not exit through normal routes.

Pets Succumb to Heavy Smoke

During the evacuation and firefighting process, officials discovered that three pet dogs had died due to severe smoke inhalation. No human fatalities were reported in the incident, and authorities focused their efforts on ensuring the safe removal of residents from the smoke-filled building.

The exact source of the fire has not yet been determined. Fire department officials stated that an investigation is underway to establish how the blaze started and whether any safety violations contributed to the incident.

Earlier Fire Linked to Charging Electric Vehicle

The latest apartment fire comes just days after another significant blaze was reported in Ghaziabad’s Surya Nagar locality. In that incident, officials said an electric vehicle being charged on the ground floor of a residential building was suspected to be the origin of the fire.

The emergency call regarding the Surya Nagar fire was received by the Vaishali Fire Station at approximately 2:24 a.m. on May 27. The affected building, located in the Rampuri area under the jurisdiction of Link Road Police Station, required a large-scale response due to reports of multiple people being trapped inside.

Multiple Fire Engines Deployed

Fire officials said initial information suggested that between 15 and 17 residents were inside the building when the fire broke out. In response, firefighting units were dispatched immediately from Vaishali, with additional support vehicles called in to strengthen rescue and containment efforts.

A total of four fire tenders participated in the operation. Firefighters worked to bring the situation under control while simultaneously helping residents move to safety.

Investigation Focuses on EV Charging Area

Upon reaching the site, emergency crews found that the fire had started on the ground floor of the four-storey building. Officials reported that an electric vehicle was connected to a charging source at the location where the blaze originated.

Firefighters managed to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further through the structure. Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether technical faults or charging-related issues played a role.

The two recent fires have once again highlighted concerns about residential fire safety, emergency preparedness, and the importance of maintaining proper safety measures in apartment buildings and charging areas for electric vehicles.
