Cricket Schedule – India Set for Historic Multi-Format Tour of New Zealand
Cricket Schedule – New Zealand Cricket has announced an extensive international home season that will feature both the men’s and women’s national teams in a packed schedule of matches. The highlight of the upcoming summer will be India’s comprehensive tour across all three formats, a series expected to attract significant attention from cricket fans worldwide.

India to Play Record-Breaking Series in New Zealand
India’s visit will include five Twenty20 Internationals, five One-Day Internationals, and two Test matches, making it the largest international tour ever hosted by New Zealand Cricket in terms of total matches. The 12-match assignment is expected to be one of the most demanding bilateral series staged in the country.
The tour will also mark India’s return to New Zealand for Test cricket after a gap of several years, with their last Test appearance there dating back to 2019. Their most recent white-ball tour of the country took place in 2022, making this upcoming visit a significant event on the international cricket calendar.
Matches Scheduled Across Major Venues
The series will begin with the T20I leg in late October, with Christchurch hosting the opening two matches. Wellington, Auckland, and Hamilton will also stage games during the shortest format.
The ODI contests will then move to Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, and Mount Maunganui. The tour will conclude with two Test matches, scheduled in Wellington and Christchurch, providing a traditional finish to a lengthy multi-format rivalry.
Sri Lanka Tour to Follow India Series
After India’s departure, New Zealand’s men’s team will immediately shift focus to another major assignment against Sri Lanka. The visitors are scheduled to arrive in January for a full-format series consisting of three ODIs, three T20Is, and two Test matches.
The white-ball fixtures will be played across Napier, Wellington, Dunedin, Christchurch, and Nelson. The Test series is set to take place in Mount Maunganui and Hamilton during February, bringing New Zealand’s busy men’s home season to a close.
White Ferns to Welcome Bangladesh
The New Zealand women’s team, known as the White Ferns, will host Bangladesh in a six-match limited-overs series during December. The schedule includes three T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals, with matches spread across Nelson, Wellington, and Mount Maunganui.
The series comes as the team continues preparations for future international competitions while also managing a changing global calendar. It will be the White Ferns’ only home assignment of the summer season.
Changes to Future Women’s International Plans
Originally, New Zealand Women were expected to travel to Australia during February and March 2027. However, those plans have been postponed following adjustments to the international schedule.
The inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, which has been rescheduled to take place in Sri Lanka in February 2027, resulted in changes to the trans-Tasman calendar. Consequently, the proposed Australia-New Zealand women’s series will be held at a later date, allowing both teams to accommodate the revised tournament timetable.
Busy Summer Expected for New Zealand Cricket
With India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh all set to feature in the home season, New Zealand Cricket is preparing for one of its busiest summers in recent years. The schedule offers a mix of T20I, ODI, and Test cricket while providing opportunities for both the men’s and women’s teams to compete against strong international opposition.
