Investments – Andhra Pradesh counters misinformation claims amid industrial growth push
Investments – Andhra Pradesh’s Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy on Tuesday accused the opposition of spreading misleading narratives, stating that recent claims circulating among the public lack factual basis. Speaking at a press interaction held in Karakampadu village in Krishna district, the minister said such messaging was creating unnecessary confusion at a time when the state is seeing steady economic progress.

Government Responds to Opposition Criticism
Parthasarathy alleged that leaders from the YSR Congress Party were deliberately promoting negative perceptions about the current administration. According to him, these efforts are aimed at influencing public opinion by presenting an inaccurate picture of governance and development. He maintained that the government remains focused on delivering results and urged citizens to rely on verified information rather than speculation.
The minister emphasized that constructive criticism is welcome in a democracy, but spreading unverified or exaggerated claims could undermine public trust. He added that the administration has been transparent in communicating its policies and progress.
Rising Investments Signal Economic Growth
Highlighting recent developments, Parthasarathy pointed to a significant rise in investments across the state. He said several major companies have shown confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s economic environment, contributing to increased industrial activity.
Among the key investments mentioned were projects from global steel giant ArcelorMittal and Reliance Industries. These developments, he noted, are expected to generate employment opportunities and strengthen the state’s industrial base. Additionally, he indicated that technology major Google is likely to begin operations in the region in the near future, further boosting the state’s profile as an emerging business destination.
According to the minister, these investments reflect growing trust among investors and demonstrate that the state is on a positive growth trajectory. He added that infrastructure improvements and policy support have played a crucial role in attracting such large-scale projects.
Clarification on Diesel Supply Concerns
Addressing recent reports about a diesel shortage, Parthasarathy dismissed them as unfounded rumors. He acknowledged that certain districts had experienced short-term disruptions but clarified that these issues were temporary and have already been addressed by the authorities.
The minister explained that the sudden pressure on fuel supply was largely due to panic buying triggered by misinformation. He urged the public not to rush into unnecessary purchases, noting that such behavior can create artificial shortages even when supply systems remain intact.
Measures Taken to Stabilize Supply
Parthasarathy assured that the government had acted promptly to resolve any logistical challenges related to fuel distribution. He said coordination with suppliers and monitoring of stock levels ensured that normal supply was restored quickly.
He also appealed to citizens to remain calm and avoid reacting to unverified reports, stressing that the administration is closely tracking essential supplies to prevent disruptions.
Call for Responsible Communication
Concluding his remarks, the minister called for responsible communication from all stakeholders, including political parties and media outlets. He emphasized the importance of sharing accurate information, especially on issues that directly impact public confidence.
Parthasarathy reiterated that Andhra Pradesh continues to move forward with a focus on development and stability. He urged people to look at tangible progress, such as investments and infrastructure growth, rather than being influenced by unfounded claims.
