Shabana Azmi informed her followers about her health condition through a post on social media. Alongside a photograph from the protest, she explained that she had intended to participate in the gathering but had to stay away after being diagnosed with H1N1. She noted that doctors advised her to isolate herself while recovering from the infection.

In her message, the veteran actor expressed gratitude to the people who attended the protest and said she has been receiving direct updates from several young participants. She mentioned that many of them were experiencing their first public demonstration and had discovered the importance of raising their voices on issues they care about.

Continues to Express Solidarity

Even while recovering at home, Azmi reaffirmed her support for the movement and praised the determination shown by the participants. She said their courage and commitment continue to motivate her and added that she remains united with them in spirit despite being unable to attend in person.

Her post also included an inspirational poem written by her father, the celebrated poet Kaifi Azmi. The poem reflected themes of resilience and hope, reinforcing the message of encouragement she wished to share with those taking part in the demonstrations.

Medical Condition and Doctor’s Advice

According to a statement issued by her team, the 74-year-old actor is suffering from swine flu and has been experiencing a high fever of 102 degrees. Doctors have advised her to take complete rest and remain in isolation until her condition improves.

The statement explained that Azmi had planned to participate in the protest but was forced to cancel her appearance after falling ill. Her team emphasized that following medical guidance is currently the priority as she focuses on recovery.

Active Role in Public Demonstrations

Before being diagnosed with H1N1, Shabana Azmi had been actively involved in the ongoing protests. She regularly attended events and used her social media platforms to keep supporters informed about developments at the protest sites.

Her continued engagement with the movement has drawn attention from supporters who have appreciated her willingness to remain connected, even while dealing with health challenges. By sharing updates and messages of encouragement, she has continued to participate from a distance.

Previous Health Scare During Protest
