HighwayAccident – A tragic road accident on National Highway-46B in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district claimed the lives of two people, including an eight-year-old child, while three others sustained serious injuries in the early hours of Wednesday. Sehore highway truck dumper crash

Collision Involving Parked Dumper Turns Fatal

According to preliminary information from the police, a dumper had suffered a mechanical breakdown and was parked along the roadside. The driver was reportedly attempting to repair the vehicle when a truck travelling on the same route struck the stationary dumper from behind. The force of the impact caused extensive damage to both heavy vehicles and temporarily disrupted traffic movement on the highway.

Officials said the crash was severe enough to leave debris scattered across the road, requiring emergency personnel to clear the area before normal traffic could resume.

Police Confirm Identities of Victims

Budhni Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Ravi Sharma said initial findings indicate that the truck driver was unable to avoid the parked dumper. The investigation is focused on determining the precise sequence of events that resulted in the collision.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Pradeep, a resident of Bagoli village under the Sanchi police station limits in Raisen district, and eight-year-old Rajveer from Parasia in Chhindwara district. Police confirmed that both victims died at the scene because of the severe impact.

Injured Shifted to Hospital for Treatment

Three other individuals involved in the accident suffered serious injuries. Emergency responders reached the location shortly after receiving information about the crash and rescued the victims from the damaged vehicles.

The injured were transported to a nearby government hospital for medical treatment. Authorities stated that doctors are closely monitoring their condition while necessary medical care is being provided.

Rescue Operation Restores Traffic Flow

A team from the Budhni police station carried out rescue and recovery operations at the accident site. Damaged vehicles were removed using heavy equipment, allowing traffic on the national highway to be gradually restored after several hours.

Police personnel remained at the location to manage vehicle movement and ensure that the affected stretch was safe for commuters before reopening the road completely.

Investigation to Examine Safety Measures

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination as part of the legal process. Meanwhile, police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation into the incident.

Officials said the inquiry will examine whether proper precautionary measures had been taken after the dumper developed a mechanical fault. Investigators are expected to verify if warning signs, hazard indicators, reflective devices or other safety arrangements were placed near the stationary vehicle to alert approaching motorists.

The findings of the investigation are expected to help determine whether any negligence contributed to the accident and whether additional road safety measures are needed to prevent similar incidents on the busy highway in the future.
