Campaign Promotes Public Participation

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The initiative encourages people to display the National Flag at their homes and develop a stronger personal association with the Tricolour.

The campaign also seeks to remember the contribution and sacrifices of freedom fighters while promoting a sense of national pride among citizens. During this year’s observance, the National Flag will be displayed at households as well as government offices across Tripura.

Vande Mataram Anniversary Gets Special Focus

The 2026 edition will give particular attention to the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram. Government authorities have planned activities around the theme “Tiranga Salute to the Spirit of Vande Mataram” as part of the wider celebrations.

The programme calendar includes Tiranga rallies and processions, exhibitions, concerts, motorcycle and bicycle rallies, and decorative lighting at important locations. Rangoli activities and the widely recognised “Selfie with Tiranga” initiative will also form part of the celebrations.

Flag Availability Strengthened Across State

Officials said Tripura has been able to maintain near-saturation levels in the availability of National Flags because of procurement undertaken during previous editions of the campaign. The state is also preparing to address any additional requirement that may arise during the 2026 celebrations.

District administrations are working with Self-Help Groups to produce additional National Flags where necessary. Flag rates for SHGs have also been revised with the aim of encouraging greater participation in flag production and supporting adequate supplies during the campaign.

Main Rally Scheduled in Agartala

The principal Har Ghar Tiranga rally at the state level will be held on August 11. It is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM from Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala. The Chief Minister of Tripura will flag off the rally, which will move through prominent parts of the city before concluding at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan.

A Tiranga Exhibition and Tiranga Concert will also be organised at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan on the same day. The events are expected to provide residents with opportunities to participate in the campaign beyond simply displaying the National Flag.

District-Level Programmes Planned

Similar activities will be conducted across Tripura at the district level during the campaign period. Authorities have placed particular emphasis on involving students and young people, along with clubs, non-governmental organisations and community groups.

The wider participation of these groups is intended to ensure that the celebrations reach different sections of society and are not limited to government-led programmes.

Government Prepares for Fifth Edition

The state government has said that necessary arrangements are being made for the successful conduct of the fifth Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in Tripura. Officials are building on the participation and public response seen during earlier editions while expanding activities across the state.

With programmes scheduled from August 9 to 17, the campaign will combine National Flag displays with rallies, cultural events, exhibitions and community activities, while this year’s celebrations also place added emphasis on the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.
