CrimeNews – A violent altercation in northeast Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar area has led to the arrest of two young men after two teenagers were allegedly attacked with knives during a dispute reportedly linked to a personal relationship. Police said the incident occurred in Kardampuri and left both victims hospitalized with injuries.

Police Receive Alert and Reach Crime Scene
According to officials, the Jyoti Nagar Police Station received information about a stabbing incident at around 5:30 pm on June 16. A police team immediately proceeded to Gali No. 4 in Kardampuri. Upon arrival, officers learned that local residents had already shifted the injured individuals to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for medical treatment.
The victims were later identified as 18-year-old Hussain and 19-year-old Rehman. Both were admitted to the hospital and were undergoing treatment when police began recording statements and gathering details about the incident.
Dispute Reportedly Linked to Personal Differences
During questioning, Hussain informed investigators that tensions had been brewing for some time between Rehman and a local resident named Sajid. The disagreement was allegedly connected to Rehman frequently visiting Kardampuri to meet a young woman known to him.
Police said that in an effort to settle the matter, Hussain, Rehman and another youth identified as Aamir travelled to Kardampuri on the day of the incident. What was intended to be a discussion reportedly turned confrontational after a heated exchange between the parties involved.
Argument Escalated Into Violence
Investigators stated that the situation worsened during the conversation, and an argument allegedly broke out. During the confrontation, Rehman is said to have slapped Sajid, further intensifying tensions between the groups.
Soon afterward, Sajid and several associates allegedly launched an attack on Hussain and Rehman using knives. Both youths sustained injuries in the assault and required immediate medical attention. Residents in the area reportedly acted quickly and transported the injured men to the hospital before police arrived.
Forensic Teams Gather Evidence
Following the incident, crime scene specialists and members of the Forensic Science Laboratory team visited the location to examine the area. Investigators collected physical evidence and other materials considered important for the case.
Based on the preliminary findings and statements recorded during the inquiry, police registered a formal case at Jyoti Nagar Police Station. The FIR was filed under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to attempted murder, criminal acts involving multiple individuals and other associated offences.
Two Suspects Taken Into Custody
As the investigation progressed, police identified and arrested two suspects. The accused have been named as Fardeen, a resident of Shani Bazar in Kardampuri, and Kashif, who lives in the Welcome area’s Kabootar Market locality. Both individuals are 19 years old.
Officials said the arrests were made after evidence and witness accounts were examined. Investigators are now working to determine the precise role of each accused and whether additional individuals were involved in the attack.
