Crime News – Delhi Robbery Suspects Arrested After Coordinated Police Operation
Crime News – Police officials on Friday confirmed the arrest of three men accused in several robbery incidents in the national capital after a joint operation carried out by Delhi Police and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kathua district.

According to officials, the operation was carefully monitored for several days after investigators received information that the accused had escaped from Delhi and were hiding in Jammu and Kashmir following a series of robbery incidents. A case had earlier been registered against them at North Dwarka police station in Delhi.
Police Teams Coordinated Across Multiple Locations
Authorities identified the arrested men as Sahil, Anshul and Himanshu. Police sources stated that the trio was allegedly linked to multiple robbery cases reported from different parts of Delhi. After gathering intelligence inputs, police units from both regions began tracking the suspects’ movement across the Jammu-Pathankot highway and nearby areas.
Senior officers said surveillance and vehicle checks were increased at important entry points, including Lakhanpur and nearby toll plazas. Information regarding the suspects’ vehicle and travel route was circulated among police personnel deployed across Kathua district to prevent their escape.
Strategic Planning Helped Police Trap the Accused
Investigators revealed that the suspects had crossed the Nasri stretch on the Jammu-Srinagar highway early Wednesday morning. However, they reportedly changed their route after noticing heavy police deployment near Lakhanpur. Officials suspected the accused may have received advance information regarding the intensified checking operation.
To avoid alerting the suspects further, police officers later modified their strategy. On Thursday, visible police deployment near Lakhanpur toll plaza was intentionally reduced to create an impression that security focus had shifted elsewhere because of another ongoing criminal investigation in the region.
Believing the route had become less risky, the accused reportedly moved towards Kathua later that evening. Police teams, already positioned at strategic points, launched a coordinated interception operation soon after receiving confirmation of their movement.
Escape Attempt Failed During Interception
Officials said the suspects attempted to escape after spotting police teams. During the chase, their vehicle allegedly rammed into a Delhi Police vehicle in an effort to break through the security cordon. Despite the resistance, officers managed to stop the vehicle after blocking alternative escape routes, including the Bhagthali side route.
Police personnel then detained all three accused without further incident. Authorities described the mission as a significant achievement made possible through close coordination between Delhi Police and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Investigation Into Additional Charges Continues
After the arrests, police teams conducted a joint search of the suspects and their vehicle. Officials confirmed that no weapons or suspicious materials were recovered during the search operation.
Investigators said further inquiry will continue in connection with the robbery cases registered in Delhi. Additional legal action may also be taken regarding the alleged attempt to flee from police custody and the damage caused to police vehicles during the operation.
Police officials noted that criminal groups involved in theft and robbery cases have previously used interstate movement to avoid immediate arrest. In several past cases, accused individuals shifted between neighbouring states and Jammu and Kashmir to remain out of police reach for a temporary period.
