Police Reach House After Emergency Call

According to police, a PCR call was received at around 4 pm regarding a locked room at a house in Kamalpur, Burari. Responding officers rushed to the location and discovered the two bodies inside after the room was opened with the assistance of the landlord and nearby residents.

The door had remained locked from inside, raising concern after the woman’s sister returned home and received no response despite repeatedly knocking. Unable to establish contact, she alerted the police, who then entered the room and began the investigation.

Victims Identified by Police

Police said the woman was originally from Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh and had been working in Delhi. The man was a resident of Sonipat in Haryana and was reportedly staying in Punjab before arriving in Delhi. Investigators said he was unemployed at the time of the incident.

Initial inquiries indicate that the two had been in a relationship for nearly six months. Investigators are now examining their recent interactions and communication to determine the events leading up to their deaths.

Relationship Dispute Under Investigation

During the preliminary investigation, police learned that the woman had allegedly contacted the man earlier on Thursday to end their relationship. Sources associated with the investigation said unemployment may have been one of the reasons behind the disagreement, though officials have not confirmed a final motive.

A pistol along with two empty cartridge cases was recovered from the room during the inspection. Police stated that the exact cause of death, along with the nature and position of the injuries, will be confirmed only after forensic experts complete their examination and the post-mortem report is received.

Messages and Live Location Become Key Evidence

Investigators are also reviewing digital evidence collected from the victims’ mobile phones. According to police, the man’s sister informed officers that he had shared his live location in the family WhatsApp group shortly before the incident.

She further claimed that he had sent messages stating that the woman’s family was opposed to their marriage and described the communication as his final message. He had also reportedly shared his phone password and the address where the woman was staying.

Police are verifying the authenticity and timeline of these messages as part of the ongoing investigation.

CCTV and Forensic Evidence to Determine Sequence

Officials said the exact sequence of events has not yet been established. CCTV footage from the surrounding area, forensic findings, digital records and the post-mortem examination will play a crucial role in reconstructing what happened inside the room.

At this stage, investigators believe the circumstances point towards either a suspected murder followed by suicide or a mutual suicide pact. However, police have stressed that no final conclusion will be drawn until all scientific and forensic evidence has been examined.

The investigation remains in progress, and authorities are continuing to gather evidence and record statements from family members and other individuals connected to the case.
