Vivek Ramaswamy: According to his campaign, Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy established a fundraising record for an Ohio governor’s election by generating $9.88 million in the second half of 2025.

According to the campaign, the July–December total exceeded the $9.7 million it raised in the first two quarters of the year and was the state’s best single reporting period performance for a gubernatorial candidate. According to the campaign, Ramaswamy’s own investment is not included in the figures.

According to Jonathan Ewing, Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign manager for Ohio, “you just don’t see this level of support in a gubernatorial race in Ohio.” “Raising nearly $20 million in the year leading up to the election and $9.88 million in a single reporting period sends an unmistakable message: Vivek’s campaign has historic momentum that no other campaign can match.”

The campaign claims that Ramaswamy collected over $19.57 million in 2025, more than tripling the $8.4 million Ohio gubernatorial fundraising record established by then-candidate Mike DeWine in 2017.

Ramaswamy has hosted 112 campaign events with a fundraising component since he started his candidacy in late February 2025, according to the campaign. It also said that 40,000 distinct contributors contributed the $9.7 million collected earlier in 2025, and that donations from supporters alone accounted for the $9.88 million raised in the second half of the year.

According to the campaign, Ramaswamy’s first fundraising has already surpassed the amount of money raised by a number of previous Ohio gubernatorial candidates. Ramaswamy raised more money in his first two reports than Republican John Kasich in 2010 and 2014, Republican Mike DeWine in 2022, and Democrat Richard Cordray in 2018, according to the campaign.

Additionally, campaign leaders used endorsements as proof of political momentum. Ramaswamy has gained support from conservative politicians, community leaders, law enforcement officials, business leaders, and labor organizations in Ohio who have traditionally backed Democrats since he received President Donald Trump’s endorsement on the first day of his campaign, according to the campaign.

According to the campaign, Ramaswamy is on course to beat DeWine’s record of $24 million in total fundraising from the 2018 gubernatorial contest.

It is anticipated that the campaign will submit its 2025 semiannual financial report, which will cover the period from July 1 to December 31, 2025, to the Ohio secretary of state by January 31, 2026.

Mike DeWine, a Republican governor with a term restriction, will be replaced in the 2026 election. After Nikki Haley and Bobby Jindal, he would be the third Indian American governor if elected.
