Investment – Telangana Showcases Long-Term Growth Vision to Attract Global Businesses

Investment – Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has invited domestic and international businesses to expand their presence in the state, presenting Telangana as a stable and investor-friendly destination with a long-term economic vision. Speaking at the third meeting of the CII Northern Regional Council for 2026-27, he outlined the government’s roadmap under the “Telangana Rising – Vision 2047” initiative, which aims to build a USD 1 trillion economy by 2037 and expand it to USD 3 trillion by 2047. He said the administration is committed to creating an environment where industries can grow with policy support, modern infrastructure and efficient governance.

Telangana growth vision attracts global investment

Vision Focused on Future Industrial Expansion

During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted plans for the proposed Bharat Future City, a large-scale urban and industrial project spread across nearly 30,000 acres. He said a Singapore-based firm is preparing the master plan for the project, which is envisioned as a next-generation business hub. The development was also compared with Gujarat’s GIFT City, though Telangana’s proposed project is expected to cover a significantly larger area.

Reddy assured industry leaders that senior government officials, including the Chief Secretary, remain accessible to investors. He announced that the Industries Minister would hold regular meetings with business representatives every two months, while he himself would review investment-related concerns every quarter to ensure quicker resolution of issues.

Global Competition, Not Regional Rivalry

The Chief Minister stressed that Telangana does not see neighbouring states as competitors. Instead, he said the state is benchmarking itself against leading global business centres such as Tokyo and New York. He encouraged investors to view Telangana as a long-term partner and think globally while expanding their operations within the state.

He also referred to the Telangana Global Summit held at Future City last year, noting that delegates from 175 countries participated in the event, reflecting growing international interest in the state’s investment potential.

Economic Targets and Sector-Based Development

Reddy reiterated the government’s ambition of increasing Telangana’s contribution to India’s GDP from the current 5 percent to 10 percent by 2047. As part of this strategy, the state aims to attract 500 of the world’s leading companies across multiple sectors.

The government has introduced dedicated development zones under the CURE, PURE and RARE framework to support services, manufacturing and agriculture. He explained that areas beyond Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road have been earmarked for planned industrial expansion, while manufacturing units will be encouraged to establish operations between the Outer Ring Road and the upcoming Regional Ring Road.

The state is also preparing to relocate industries currently operating within Hyderabad city to newly developed industrial zones equipped with improved infrastructure and modern facilities.

Infrastructure Projects to Strengthen Connectivity

Highlighting infrastructure development, Reddy said Telangana is constructing a 360-kilometre Regional Ring Road and expanding radial road connectivity. Plans are also underway for a 12-lane highway linking Bharat Future City with Machilipatnam Port to improve logistics and exports.

The Chief Minister said Telangana intends to benefit from the global “China Plus One” manufacturing strategy by offering secure investment conditions and reliable infrastructure. He also announced that new airports are planned for Warangal and Adilabad, while proposed high-speed rail links connecting Hyderabad with Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune are expected to enhance regional connectivity.

Skill Development and Technology Push

The government is placing strong emphasis on workforce development to meet changing industry requirements. Reddy said the Young India Skills University has been established through a public-private partnership, with Anand Mahindra serving as its chairman. The university aims to prepare skilled professionals for global employment opportunities.

He also called for transforming Industrial Training Institutes into Advanced Technology Centres, noting that Tata Group is supporting a major share of the project cost. According to the Chief Minister, graduates from these centres are achieving full employment after completing their training.

Investment Commitments and Policy Continuity

The meeting highlighted several major investment proposals, including Amazon’s planned investment of ₹1 lakh crore in data centres and the Adani Group’s ₹35,000 crore data centre project. Telangana’s growing Global Capability Centre ecosystem and the success of companies such as Skyroot were also discussed.

Reddy said the state continues to build upon effective policies introduced by previous governments while introducing new reforms to improve ease of doing business. Paying tribute to former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, he credited the economic reforms of liberalisation, privatisation and globalisation for laying the foundation of India’s growth. He also acknowledged the contributions of former Chief Ministers in developing Hyderabad’s IT, infrastructure and industrial sectors.

Concluding his address, the Chief Minister assured investors that the Telangana government would provide full administrative support throughout their investment journey. CII Northern Region Chairman Puneet Kaura praised the state’s industrial policies, describing them as encouraging for future business expansion
