Children Celebrate Their Father’s Special Day

Amar’s son, Aryaman, shared a collection of photographs with his father on Instagram, accompanied by a touching birthday message. Calling Amar his “mentor, friend, teacher and world,” he credited his father for influencing the person he is today and the individual he hopes to become in the future.

Aryaman reflected on the values he has learned simply by observing his father over the years. According to him, humility, hard work and discipline are the three most valuable lessons Amar has passed on through his actions rather than words. He ended his message by expressing gratitude for being Amar’s son and reaffirming his love for him.

Earlier this year, Amar had publicly praised Aryaman after one of his stage performances, encouraging him to remain committed to his goals and continue believing in himself. Reports suggest that Aryaman is currently preparing to make his acting debut.

Daughter Shares Childhood Memories

Amar’s daughter, Chenab, also joined the celebrations by posting a series of childhood photographs featuring moments with her father. Alongside the images, she wished him a happy birthday and wrote that she loves him dearly.

Responding warmly to the post, Amar thanked his daughter with an affectionate message, referring to her lovingly as his child.

A Career Built on Memorable Television Roles

Over the years, Amar Upadhyay has established himself as one of Indian television’s familiar faces through several successful serials. He gained widespread popularity for portraying Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, a role that became one of the defining performances of his career.

His long association with producer Ekta Kapoor also includes appearances in shows such as Kalash, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kkusum and Molkki. In addition to scripted television, Amar participated in the reality show Bigg Boss, where he reached the finale and emerged as one of the finalists.

His television journey also features notable performances in Dekh Bhai Dekh, Viraasat, Chand Ke Paar Chalo, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Ek Deewaana Tha, Ishqbaaaz, Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho and Doree, among several other productions.

Success Beyond the Small Screen

Apart from television, Amar has worked in a number of Hindi films across different genres. His film credits include LOC Kargil, Dhund: The Fog, Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge!, 13B, It’s My Life, Kaagaz and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, allowing him to expand his presence beyond the television industry.

His entry into acting dates back to 1993, when photographs published in a magazine reportedly caught the attention of Jaya Bachchan. That opportunity led to his casting in the television series Dekh Bhai Dekh, paving the way for a career that would later include numerous successful projects such as Arzoo, Suhana Safar and Mehndi Tere Naam Ki.

Return to an Iconic Television Franchise

Most recently, Amar returned to reprise his popular role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, a reboot and sequel to the iconic family drama. Smriti Irani also returned as Tulsi Virani, reuniting the celebrated on-screen pair after many years. The new edition introduces a younger generation of characters portrayed by Rohit Suchanti, Tanisha Mehta, Shagun Sharma and Aman Gandhi, while continuing the legacy of the original series.
