AICWA Seeks Comprehensive Investigation

The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has formally appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to initiate a high-level inquiry into the actress’s death. The organization has urged authorities to conduct a thorough examination of all available evidence and investigate every possible aspect of the case to ensure transparency and fairness.

In its statement, AICWA emphasized that the loss of a young artist has deeply affected both her family and members of the film and television fraternity. The association stated that her contribution to the industry will be remembered and that her loved ones deserve clear answers regarding the tragic incident.

Demand for Transparency and Justice

According to the association, every life carries immense value, making it essential for investigators to determine the complete facts surrounding the case. AICWA stressed that a fair and unbiased inquiry is necessary so that any unanswered questions can be addressed through a transparent legal process.

The organization also highlighted the importance of maintaining public confidence in the investigation by ensuring that no angle is overlooked. It called upon law enforcement agencies and relevant authorities to pursue the matter with diligence and accountability.

Concerns Over Mental Health in Entertainment Sector

Beyond the immediate investigation, AICWA has raised broader concerns about the growing number of deaths and mental health-related incidents reported within the entertainment industry in recent years. The association has requested the Maharashtra government to establish a dedicated committee that can examine these recurring issues and recommend measures to improve the overall well-being of artists and industry professionals.

The proposed committee would focus on reviewing existing support systems available to actors, technicians, and other creative workers. It would also assess whether additional safeguards and mental health resources are needed to better support individuals working in the demanding entertainment environment.

Industry Calls for Stronger Support Mechanisms

AICWA noted that several previous incidents involving entertainment professionals have generated public debate and concern. In many such cases, family members, colleagues, and observers have sought greater clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding these tragedies.

The association believes that a structured review of industry conditions could help identify challenges faced by artists and encourage the development of stronger welfare and support frameworks. It has urged policymakers to treat mental health and workplace well-being as important priorities for the sector.

Details of the Incident

According to police information, Sanchita Ugale was found dead at her residence in the Sai Santoshi Building area of Nalasopara East, Mumbai. Authorities reported that the incident occurred on June 14 between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm.
