FilmAdaptation – Daisy Edgar-Jones to Lead Acclaimed Novel’s Big-Screen Journey
FilmAdaptation – Actress Daisy Edgar-Jones has been confirmed as the lead star in the upcoming film adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin’s bestselling novel Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. The highly anticipated project is scheduled to reach cinemas worldwide on November 12, 2027, bringing one of the most celebrated contemporary novels to the big screen.

Award-Winning Filmmaker Takes Creative Control
The adaptation will be directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sian Heder, whose work on the acclaimed film CODA earned widespread recognition. In addition to directing, Heder is also responsible for writing the screenplay, shaping the story for its transition from page to screen.
The film is based on Gabrielle Zevin’s internationally successful 2022 novel, which gained praise for its emotional storytelling and unique exploration of friendship, creativity and ambition. The narrative follows two individuals whose lives become connected during childhood and later reunite in college, eventually leading them into the rapidly growing video game industry.
Story Explores Friendship and Creative Ambition
At the heart of the story is Sadie Green, a talented game designer whose professional and personal journey forms a central part of the narrative. Daisy Edgar-Jones is set to portray the character, marking another major role in her growing film career.
Alongside Sadie is Sam Masur, a longtime friend and creative collaborator. The pair, joined by Sam’s close friend and roommate Marx Watanabe, launch a video game company known as Unfair Games. As the years pass, the three navigate the challenges of business success, artistic expression, personal relationships and changing ambitions.
Set largely during the 1990s and early 2000s, the story examines how creative partnerships evolve over time while highlighting the fast-changing world of game development.
Daisy Edgar-Jones Continues Rising Career
The casting of Daisy Edgar-Jones had been reported earlier this year, with the actress selected to bring Sadie Green to life on screen. Edgar-Jones has become one of the most recognizable young performers in recent years through a series of successful film and television appearances.
Her notable projects include the films Twisters and Where the Crawdads Sing, as well as acclaimed television productions such as Normal People and Under the Banner of Heaven. Industry observers view her involvement as a significant addition to a project already attracting considerable attention from readers and film audiences alike.
At present, casting announcements for the important roles of Sam Masur and Marx Watanabe have not yet been made public.
Experienced Production Team Behind the Film
Heder is adapting the screenplay using earlier script work developed by screenwriter Mark Bomback and author Gabrielle Zevin. The production team also includes Temple Hill producers Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen and Isaac Klausner.
Zevin will remain closely connected to the project by serving as an executive producer, helping ensure the adaptation remains faithful to the spirit of the original novel.
Novel Achieved Global Literary Success
Since its release in 2022, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow has become a major international publishing success. The novel has sold more than four million copies worldwide and has been distributed across dozens of international markets through translations into numerous languages.
The book has also received significant critical recognition. It was included among the 100 best books of the 21st century by The New York Times and was recognized by the Los Angeles Times as one of the standout works of fiction from the past three decades.
With a respected creative team, a popular source novel and a leading actress in place, the adaptation is expected to be one of the most closely watched literary film projects ahead of its November 2027 theatrical debut.
