Muzaffarpur – Husband Accused of Killing Wife at Her Parents’ Home
Muzaffarpur – Bihar crime investigation continues after a woman was found murdered at her maternal home in Muzaffarpur’s Nawada village on Monday. Police said the woman’s husband is suspected of carrying out the attack before escaping from the house.

The victim has been identified as Rinku Kumari, who was married and had two young children. She had reportedly gone to stay with her parents in Nawada village when the incident occurred.
Husband Had Arrived a Day Earlier
According to police officials, the accused had reached his in-laws’ residence a day before the alleged murder. He had come to meet Rinku Kumari, but the circumstances that led to the fatal attack are still being examined.
Investigators said the woman was allegedly attacked with a knife, resulting in a deep injury to her throat. The husband reportedly left the location soon after the incident. Police have not yet disclosed whether any dispute took place between the couple before the crime.
Case Registered Under Rajepur Police Station
The incident falls under the Rajepur police station area, officials said. Rinku Kumari’s matrimonial home was in Harnahi village, which comes under the Baruraj police station jurisdiction.
Saraiya Sub-Divisional Police Officer Abhijeet Kaur said police received information about the death and immediately sent a team to the village. The officer confirmed that the case is being treated as a murder investigation.
“A woman who was staying at her parental home was found with her throat slit. Her husband had arrived there a day earlier and is suspected of fleeing after the attack,” Kaur said while sharing preliminary details of the case.
Forensic Team Collects Evidence From Scene
Police officers inspected the house after reaching the spot. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory was also called to examine the crime scene and collect material that could help establish the sequence of events.
The forensic team gathered evidence from the residence, while local police spoke to family members and nearby residents. Statements from people present in the area at the time are expected to form part of the investigation.
Officials said they are also trying to determine whether the accused used the same weapon found at or near the scene. Details related to the suspected weapon have not been formally released.
Search Underway to Trace Accused
Police have launched a search operation to locate the accused husband. Teams are checking possible locations and gathering information about his recent movements after he allegedly left the village.
Authorities said the investigation remains at an early stage and further facts will emerge after forensic reports, witness statements and other evidence are reviewed. Police have appealed for cooperation from anyone with information that could assist in tracing the accused.
