The actor posted a warm photograph in which she is seen holding the two children close. Alongside the image, Azmi joked that her “lovely bachchas” had not paid much attention to her until they found out about her connection with the popular science-fiction project.

A Personal Post About Halo

In her caption, Azmi wrote that Meghna and Viraaj had barely given her the time of day before discovering that she was part of Steven Spielberg’s Halo. Her post drew attention for its affectionate and humorous reference to how younger family members often respond differently when a celebrity association becomes familiar to them.

Azmi featured in Halo, the American military science-fiction television series inspired by the video game franchise created by Bungie. The show was developed for television by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane and brought the well-known gaming universe to a wider streaming audience.

The Story Behind the Science-Fiction Series

Set in the 26th century, Halo centres on a long-running conflict between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant, a powerful alliance of alien species. The Covenant views humanity as a threat and is determined to destroy it, placing the human forces in a battle for survival.

Pablo Schreiber leads the series as Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, one of the franchise’s best-known characters. Jen Taylor appears as Cortana, returning to the role after previously voicing the artificial intelligence character in the video games.

The series combines large-scale action with themes of warfare, technology and identity, while drawing from the established world of the Halo games.

Shabana Azmi’s Upcoming Period Drama

Azmi is now preparing for her next major screen appearance in Rajkumar Santoshi’s period drama Batwara 1947. Much of the project remains undisclosed, including several details about its production and release plans.

The film was previously known as Lahore 1947 and features an ensemble cast that includes Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal and Shabana Azmi. It also reunites Sunny Deol with director Rajkumar Santoshi, whose earlier collaborations include Ghayal and Damini.

A Partition Story Through Human Lives

Batwara 1947 is reportedly based on Asghar Wajahat’s widely respected play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai. Rather than focusing only on political developments surrounding Partition, the story explores its emotional impact on ordinary people whose lives were altered by violence, migration and communal divisions.

The narrative is said to follow a Hindu family that leaves Lahore for India during the Partition period. After being assigned a haveli previously occupied by a Muslim family, they discover that an elderly Muslim woman continues to live there. The situation forms the basis of a deeply personal story about loss, belonging and coexistence during one of the most difficult chapters in the subcontinent’s history.
