Shatrughan Sinha – Zaheer Iqbal has marked a special milestone for his in-laws, sharing a heartfelt anniversary message for veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha and his wife, Poonam Sinha. The couple completed 45 years of marriage on July 10, with Zaheer posting a rare photograph from their wedding celebrations.

Zaheer took to social media to post an old image from Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha’s wedding day. The picture showed the couple in traditional wedding attire shortly after their garland ceremony. A young Shatrughan Sinha appeared in groom’s clothing with a floral garland around his neck, while Poonam Sinha wore a red bridal saree paired with traditional jewellery.
The newly married couple could be seen smiling for the camera in the memorable frame. Alongside the photograph, Zaheer wrote a warm message for them, saying, “Happy Anniversary Sasurjeee and SaasuMaaaa.”

Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha got married in July 1981 and have remained one of the long-standing couples in the Hindi film industry. Their relationship began before their marriage, with reports stating that they first met during a train journey connected to a film shoot.
The two later crossed paths again through the film world and gradually developed a close bond. After spending time together, they decided to marry and went on to build a family. They are parents to three children: twin sons Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha, along with actor Sonakshi Sinha.
Over the years, Poonam Sinha has often been seen accompanying Shatrughan Sinha at public events, film-related gatherings and family occasions. Their anniversary has also drawn attention from fans who have followed the actor’s career for decades.
Zaheer Iqbal and Sonakshi Sinha’s marriage
Zaheer Iqbal married Sonakshi Sinha on June 23, 2024, following a relationship that lasted for nearly seven years. The couple reportedly met at a party hosted by Salman Khan and became friends before their relationship developed further.
They later worked together in the 2022 film Double XL, which also featured Huma Qureshi. Their wedding was attended by family members, friends and several well-known faces from the film industry.
Sonakshi Sinha comes from a Hindu family, while Zaheer Iqbal belongs to a Muslim family. Their marriage brought together two families from different religious backgrounds and was celebrated with a civil ceremony followed by a reception in Mumbai.
