Crime Investigation – Rajkot Police Probe Former AAP Candidate’s Suspicious Death

Crime Investigation – A 23-year-old former municipal election candidate was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Rajkot, prompting a detailed police investigation while authorities await forensic findings to determine the exact cause of death.

Rajkot aap candidate suspicious death probe

A former Aam Aadmi Party candidate from the Jetpur-Navagadh Municipal Corporation election, 23-year-old Nandani Bosamiya, was found dead inside a flat near Gondal Chowkdi in Rajkot. According to police, her body was discovered hanging after emergency responders reached the apartment, where the entrance was reportedly locked from the inside. Initial observations indicated a possible suicide, but the investigation has expanded after her family alleged that the incident was a planned murder disguised as self-harm.

Family Raises Serious Allegations

Members of Bosamiya’s family have accused her live-in partner, Aslam Hussain, of being responsible for her death. They claim the scene was manipulated to resemble suicide and have demanded a comprehensive criminal investigation.

The case has also attracted the attention of the State Women’s Commission, which has sought a detailed report from the Rajkot Police regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigation Reveals Details of Relationship

During the inquiry, investigators found that Nandani had been living with Aslam Hussain, a resident of Junagadh, under a formal live-in agreement. Police also confirmed that Hussain is married and has a child.

According to family members, tensions had grown between the couple over the past three months. They alleged that disagreements frequently arose because Hussain continued visiting his wife and child in Junagadh.

Sister Describes Alleged Harassment

Speaking to the media, Nandani’s sister, Rupal Bosamiya, alleged that her sibling had endured both mental and physical harassment during the relationship.

She claimed visible injury marks were present on the neck, hands and face of the deceased. According to her, the condition of the room also suggested signs of a struggle before death. Rupal further alleged that Nandani had previously been attacked with a knife by Hussain’s wife and mother while the couple lived in Junagadh, leading them to shift to Rajkot.

She also stated that the couple had been in a relationship for nearly a year and had shared the Rajkot residence for around nine months. According to the family, Hussain and one of his relatives have remained unreachable since the incident, with their mobile phones switched off.

Father Demands Fair Investigation

Nandani’s father, Anandbhai Bosamiya, alleged that his daughter had been living under severe emotional stress for nearly a year because of Hussain and his family.

He questioned whether the marks found on her body were consistent with death by hanging and urged investigators to conduct a thorough probe before reaching any conclusion. The family has requested strict legal action if any criminal involvement is established.

Final Message and Ongoing Police Action

The family further claimed that shortly before her death, Nandani sent a message to her sister expressing her inability to continue living with Hussain. They alleged that she had informed them she had pledged her gold jewellery to support him financially and feared returning home because she believed it would bring embarrassment to the family.

Police have sent the body for a forensic post-mortem examination, and officials said the report will play a crucial role in determining the next course of legal action. Investigators are currently tracking Hussain’s mobile phone location and plan to question him as part of the inquiry.

Authorities stated that any decision regarding the registration of a murder case or charges related to abetment of suicide will depend on forensic evidence, witness statements and the overall findings of the ongoing investigation.
