LPGPrices – Commercial Cooking Gas Rates Rise Across Major Indian Cities
LPGPrices – Businesses that rely heavily on cooking fuel are set to face higher operating expenses after a fresh increase in commercial LPG cylinder prices took effect from June 1, 2026. The latest revision impacts restaurants, hotels, catering services, and other food-related establishments across the country. However, households have been spared from the hike, as domestic LPG cylinder rates remain unchanged.

Commercial LPG Rates Increased in Key Markets
According to the revised pricing structure, the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has risen in several metropolitan cities. In Delhi, the cylinder now costs Rs 3,113.50 following an increase of Rs 42. Kolkata recorded a larger jump, with prices climbing by Rs 53.50 to reach Rs 3,255.50.
In Mumbai, businesses will now pay Rs 3,024.50 for a commercial cylinder, while the revised rate in Chennai stands at Rs 3,232. The increase has been particularly noticeable in Hyderabad and Patna, where prices have reached Rs 3,294 and Rs 3,322 respectively, making them among the most expensive markets for commercial LPG consumers.
Fuel Security Concerns Behind the Move
The latest adjustment comes at a time when authorities and oil marketing companies are focusing on strengthening the country’s fuel supply resilience. Ongoing geopolitical tensions involving the United States and Iran have increased concerns over global energy stability, prompting closer monitoring of fuel availability and pricing.
Industry observers note that businesses are already dealing with elevated transportation expenses and broader fuel-related costs. The latest rise in commercial LPG rates is expected to add further pressure on operating budgets, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises that depend on fuel for daily operations.
Smaller LPG Cylinders Also Become Costlier
The price revision is not limited to larger commercial cylinders. Free Trade LPG cylinders with a capacity of 5 kilograms have also become more expensive. The rate has been increased by Rs 11, taking the retail price in Delhi to Rs 821.50.
These smaller cylinders are commonly used in specific commercial applications and by consumers who require flexible fuel solutions. The increase is likely to affect operating costs for businesses that depend on these units for temporary or mobile cooking setups.
CNG Prices Witness Another Upward Revision
The commercial LPG price increase follows closely behind a recent rise in Compressed Natural Gas rates. CNG prices in Delhi and nearby regions have been raised by Rs 2 per kilogram, pushing the revised rate to Rs 83.09 per kg.
This marks the fourth CNG price hike within a period of less than two weeks. Since May 15, consumers have seen cumulative increases of Rs 6 per kg. The repeated revisions have added to concerns among transport operators and businesses that rely on natural gas-powered vehicles.
Impact on Food and Transport Sectors
With both commercial LPG and CNG becoming more expensive, industries linked to food services and transportation could experience higher input costs in the coming weeks. Businesses may need to review their expenditure strategies as fuel-related expenses continue to rise.
While domestic consumers remain unaffected for now, commercial users across multiple sectors are expected to closely monitor future pricing decisions amid evolving energy market conditions and international developments.
