Politics – Yogi Adityanath Reviews Public Issues and Pushes Key Development Plans

Politics – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spent Friday addressing public concerns in Gorakhpur before heading to Deoria for the launch of several large-scale development projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure and welfare services across the state.

The Chief Minister met residents during the ‘Janta Darshan’ programme held at the Gorakhnath Temple complex, where people from different districts presented complaints and requests related to civic services and administration. During the interaction, Yogi Adityanath listened to grievances individually and instructed officials to ensure quick action on pending matters.

Development Projects Planned in Deoria

After concluding the public interaction session in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister was scheduled to visit Deoria to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 19 projects valued at more than ₹655 crore. These projects are expected to support infrastructure expansion and improve public facilities in the region.

In a message shared on social media ahead of the visit, Yogi Adityanath said the development works would mark a new phase of welfare and progress for Deoria. He also noted that government beneficiaries would receive certificates linked to different welfare schemes during the programme.

According to the Chief Minister, the projects are intended to support the state government’s broader focus on inclusive growth and the goal of building a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh. Officials believe the investment will contribute to local employment opportunities and strengthen regional infrastructure.

Tribute Paid to Raja Ram Mohan Roy

The Chief Minister also remembered social reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy on his birth anniversary. In his tribute, Yogi Adityanath described Roy as a leading figure of the Indian Renaissance and acknowledged his role in promoting modern education and social reform in India.

He praised the Brahmo Samaj founder for encouraging rational thinking and challenging outdated social practices during his lifetime. The Chief Minister said Roy’s contribution to educational and social progress continues to inspire future generations.

Review Meeting on Uttar Pradesh Economic Plans

Earlier this week, the Chief Minister chaired a high-level review meeting focused on several major economic and administrative initiatives in the state. The discussions included the Uttar Pradesh Data Centre Cluster project, Project Ganga, and policy measures aimed at encouraging wheat processing within the state.

During the review of the Uttar Pradesh Data Centre Cluster initiative, Yogi Adityanath said the project would become an important part of the state’s future artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure plans. He stressed that data centre development should not remain limited to the National Capital Region and directed officials to expand connectivity to other districts as well.

The meeting also included a review of “Project Ganga,” a programme designed to create digital entrepreneurship opportunities for young people. The Chief Minister instructed authorities to provide high-quality training to selected youth participants so they can work effectively in technology and survey-related services.

Focus on Modernising Mandis and Food Security

The Chief Minister additionally reviewed proposals connected to wheat processing and agricultural market reforms. He emphasised the need to improve mandi tax and fee structures in order to support local processing industries.

Yogi Adityanath also directed officials to modernise mandis across the state by improving cleanliness, lighting, infrastructure, and management systems. He asked authorities to remove encroachments and ensure proper maintenance, especially during festive periods.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister referred to concerns surrounding the possible impact of El Nino conditions on agriculture in the coming years. He said Uttar Pradesh must strengthen food security measures and maintain adequate foodgrain reserves to handle any future challenges affecting crop production.
