Campaign to Prioritise Water Security in Villages

During his visit to Dhambola village in Dungarpur district on Friday, the Chief Minister stressed that long-term water management can only succeed through active involvement from local communities. He said preserving traditional ponds and promoting rainwater storage systems could play a major role in reducing water shortages faced by villages every year.

The Chief Minister noted that many rural areas continue to struggle with declining groundwater levels, making water conservation an urgent priority. According to him, the new campaign will encourage people to participate directly in activities related to water preservation and sustainable usage.

Early Morning Interaction With Villagers

After spending the night in Dhambola village, Sharma began his day by walking through different parts of the village and interacting with residents. He met elderly villagers, asked about their well-being, and received blessings from them during the visit.

The Chief Minister also stopped at local shops to speak with traders and understand the challenges linked to their livelihoods. Residents welcomed his informal approach and shared concerns related to local development and public services.

At several locations, Sharma listened to suggestions from villagers regarding government welfare schemes and ongoing administrative work. Many residents used the opportunity to raise issues connected to infrastructure, education, and public facilities.

Focus on Rural Education and Youth Support

While speaking with villagers over tea, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s plan to establish ‘Atal Gyan Kendras’ in Panchayats throughout the state. These centres are expected to provide books, newspapers, and study material to students preparing for competitive examinations.

He said the initiative is intended to support rural youth who often travel long distances or spend heavily on educational resources available in cities. By improving access to learning material within villages, the government hopes to reduce financial pressure on families while encouraging students to continue their preparation locally.

Sharma added that strengthening basic facilities in villages remains a key objective of the state administration and development projects would continue in phases.

Instructions for Pond Development and Public Facilities

During the visit, the Chief Minister directed district officials to undertake embankment construction and plantation work at Khemsagar Pond. The move is expected to support water storage capacity while improving the surrounding environment.

Responding to requests from residents, he also instructed authorities to improve sports infrastructure in the village and ensure proper construction quality in classrooms at the government school.

The administration was further asked to intensify awareness programmes against drug abuse across the district. Sharma said young people should be encouraged to participate actively in anti-drug campaigns and community awareness drives.

Village Traditions and Community Bonds Highlighted

The Chief Minister praised the social harmony commonly found in rural communities, saying villages continue to preserve traditions of mutual support and collective responsibility. Referring to the custom of “Rama-Shyama,” he described village culture as one built on emotional connection and cooperation during both happy and difficult times.

During his tour, Sharma also spent time with children playing badminton in the village. He joined them for a short game and later distributed chocolates among the children, creating a cheerful atmosphere during the interaction.

Temple Visit Marks Conclusion of Tour

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister visited the Govardhan Nath Ji Temple and Mataji Temple, where he offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Rajasthan.

Several public representatives, local officials, and villagers remained present throughout the visit as the state government outlined its upcoming plans for rural development and water conservation.
