Delivery worker dies delhi flyover crash

The victim, identified as 25-year-old Rajkumar, was working as a delivery executive and originally hailed from Jharkhand’s Godda district. According to police officials, the fatal incident occurred at around 6:30 am on the Dabri flyover when his scooter collided with a car under circumstances that are still being examined.

Early Morning Crash on Busy Flyover

Authorities said the accident took place during early commuting hours when traffic begins to build across key routes in the city. Initial findings suggest that the impact between the scooter and the car caused Rajkumar to lose control of his vehicle, leading to a fall from the flyover.

Such falls from elevated roads often result in severe injuries due to the height involved, and in this case, the consequences proved fatal. Officials noted that the exact sequence of events leading to the fall is still under investigation, and more clarity is expected after reviewing technical evidence.

Police Response and Discovery at Scene

Police from the Janakpuri station received information about the incident at approximately 7:35 am. A caller had reported that a person had fallen from the flyover, prompting immediate response from emergency teams.

Upon reaching the location, officers found both a damaged scooter and a red car, indicating a collision had taken place. The injured rider was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The scene was secured, and preliminary documentation of the vehicles involved was carried out as part of the investigation process.

Driver Flees, Search Underway

One of the key aspects of the case is that the driver of the car reportedly left the scene immediately after the accident, abandoning the vehicle. Police confirmed that the car is registered in the name of an individual residing in Dabri Part 2.

Efforts are currently underway to identify and apprehend the driver. Officials are treating the case seriously, given the circumstances and the fatal outcome. The act of fleeing the scene may also attract additional legal consequences depending on the findings.

CCTV Footage and Investigation Progress

Investigators have begun examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to reconstruct the incident. Surveillance footage is expected to provide critical insights into how the collision occurred and whether any traffic violations contributed to the accident.

Authorities are also reviewing witness statements and assessing road conditions at the time of the crash. These steps are essential in determining liability and ensuring accountability.

Concerns Over Road Safety for Delivery Workers

The incident has once again drawn attention to the risks faced by delivery workers, who often navigate busy roads under time pressure. With the rapid growth of app-based delivery services, concerns about rider safety and working conditions have been raised repeatedly.

While officials have not commented on broader policy implications in this case, such incidents underline the need for improved safety measures, stricter enforcement of traffic rules, and greater awareness among motorists.

The investigation remains ongoing, and further updates are expected as police gather more evidence and track down the absconding driver.
