Spirituality – Former IIT Graduate Abhay Singh Marries Engineer in Quiet Ceremony
Spirituality – Abhay Singh, widely known as “IIT Baba” after gaining public attention during last year’s Mahakumbh in Allahabad, has entered a new phase of life. The former IIT graduate, who later chose a spiritual path, recently married Pritika, an engineer from Karnataka. The couple was seen together at Singh’s hometown in Jhajjar, Haryana, where they visited his family following their wedding.

Visit to Family Draws Public Attention
During his visit, Abhay met his parents and sought their blessings at his father Karan Singh’s office. His father, a practicing lawyer, received several visitors as people gathered outside the chamber to catch a glimpse of Abhay. Many in the crowd were eager to take photographs and interact briefly with him, reflecting his growing public recognition.
Abhay told reporters that the visit was primarily personal, intended to reconnect with his family and complete certain formalities after the wedding.
Wedding Ceremony and Registration Details
The marriage ceremony took place on February 15, coinciding with the festival of Mahashivratri. The couple exchanged vows at the Aghanjar Mahadev Temple in a traditional setting. A few days later, on February 19, the marriage was officially registered in court.
Pritika, who is originally from Bengaluru, accompanied Abhay to Jhajjar for completing legal documentation and meeting his family members. Their appearance together marked the first public confirmation of their marriage.
Shared Vision for Education and Spiritual Growth
Speaking about their relationship, Pritika described Abhay as a straightforward and sincere individual. She emphasized that both of them share a common goal of promoting traditional Indian spiritual values alongside modern education.
The couple has expressed interest in establishing an institution that blends academic learning with spiritual teachings. According to them, this initiative aims to provide a balanced approach to education, combining intellectual development with inner growth.
Abhay also stated that despite his marriage, he remains committed to his spiritual practices and continues to focus on sadhna. Currently, the couple is based in Himachal Pradesh, where they are working toward their long-term plans.
Public Image and Past Controversies
While Abhay gained widespread attention during the Mahakumbh for his unique personality and background, his journey has not been without challenges. After becoming a recognizable figure, he was involved in a public dispute during a television debate, which drew criticism.
In a separate incident, he was detained in Rajasthan in connection with a narcotics-related case and spent some time in custody. These events brought him into the spotlight for reasons beyond his spiritual pursuits.
Despite these controversies, Abhay continues to maintain his focus on spirituality and personal growth.
Educational Background and Life Journey
Abhay Singh was born in Jhajjar to a family with a professional background—his father being a lawyer and his mother a homemaker. He completed his aerospace engineering degree from IIT Bombay in 2008, marking the beginning of a promising career.
In 2016, he moved to Canada for a well-paying job. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned to India. Over time, he distanced himself from his previous lifestyle and family ties, choosing instead to follow a path centered on spiritual exploration.
His transformation from an engineer to a spiritual seeker has drawn both curiosity and debate, making him a notable figure in recent times.
