SaudiArabia –  The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia has dismissed reports claiming that an Indian citizen was killed in a missile strike in Al Kharj. The clarification came after several media outlets suggested that an Indian national was among those who died when a projectile reportedly hit a residential building during rising tensions linked to the ongoing Iran and US-Israel conflict.

According to officials, the embassy verified the situation with Saudi authorities and confirmed that no Indian citizen lost their life in the incident. The statement provided reassurance to the Indian community living in the Kingdom, many of whom had expressed concern after the initial reports circulated.

Embassy Verifies Situation With Saudi Authorities

In an official communication, the Indian Embassy stated that it has been closely coordinating with relevant Saudi agencies to understand the full details of the incident. The embassy emphasized that the information shared by some media outlets about an Indian fatality was inaccurate.

Diplomatic officials confirmed that there has been no confirmed death of an Indian national in the Al Kharj attack. The embassy noted that maintaining direct communication with local authorities helped verify the facts quickly and provide accurate information to the public.

The clarification was widely welcomed by the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia, where a large number of Indian workers are employed across various sectors including construction, maintenance, and service industries.

Injured Indian Citizen Receiving Medical Care

While there were no fatalities among Indian nationals, one Indian citizen was injured in the incident. The embassy said that its Counsellor for Community Welfare, Y. Sabir, personally visited Al Kharj to assess the situation and check on the injured individual.

During the visit, the official met the injured Indian national who is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Al Kharj. Authorities reported that the injured person is receiving appropriate medical attention and remains under observation.

Embassy officials stated that they will continue to monitor the individual’s condition and provide necessary support until recovery.

Casualties Reported Among Bangladeshi Nationals

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Civil Defence confirmed that the projectile struck a residential facility in the Al Kharj Governorate. The site reportedly housed workers employed by a maintenance and cleaning company.

Authorities said two Bangladeshi nationals lost their lives in the incident. In addition, twelve Bangladeshi workers and one Indian national were injured when the projectile landed at the residential location.

Emergency teams responded quickly to the scene, providing medical assistance and transporting the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Advisory Issued for Indians Living in Saudi Arabia

Amid growing tensions in the Middle East, the Embassy of India in Riyadh has issued a safety advisory for Indian citizens residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The advisory urges the community to remain alert and follow official safety instructions.

The embassy advised Indian nationals to stay informed about updates issued by Saudi authorities and to strictly follow security guidelines in their respective areas. Officials stressed that vigilance is important as regional developments continue to evolve.

Embassy Services and Consular Operations Continue Normally

Diplomatic officials also confirmed that the embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General of India in Jeddah are functioning normally. Regular consular services remain available to Indian citizens, and outsourced visa and documentation services through VFS continue to operate.

The embassy stated that consular outreach camps are being organized periodically to assist Indian nationals across different regions of Saudi Arabia.

Flight Operations Between Saudi Arabia and India

The Indian Embassy also confirmed that airport operations in Jeddah and Madinah have returned to normal. Both Indian and Saudi airlines are currently running regular services.

Indian nationals who wish to travel back to India can book flights depending on seat availability. Authorities advised travelers to check with airlines for updated schedules and booking options.
