Election – Mayawati Dismisses Alliance Speculation Ahead of 2027 UP Polls

Election –  Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati on Wednesday firmly rejected reports suggesting that her party might join hands with other political groups for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Calling the claims entirely unfounded, she reiterated that the BSP would enter the electoral contest independently.

Mayawati rejects 2027 alliance rumours

Addressing a press conference, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister described the reports as fabricated and accused certain elements of deliberately spreading confusion. She alleged that modern technology, including artificial intelligence tools, was being misused to circulate misleading narratives aimed at influencing public perception.

Mayawati Reaffirms Independent Poll Strategy

Mayawati made it clear that the party’s position has not changed. According to her, the BSP has consistently maintained that it will contest the 2027 Assembly elections on its own strength. She reminded reporters that this stance was publicly announced at a large rally in Lucknow on October 9, 2025, marking the death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram.

She said the declaration had sparked widespread discussion across the country, leaving little room for misunderstanding. Despite that, she claimed, certain political rivals and sections of the media continue to circulate what she termed “baseless” reports of a possible alliance.

The BSP chief urged journalists and political leaders to exercise caution and avoid speculative commentary that could mislead voters. She stressed that such narratives serve no constructive purpose in the democratic process.

Allegations Against Rival Parties

During the briefing, Mayawati criticized major political parties, including the Congress, the Samajwadi Party, and the Bharatiya Janata Party. She alleged that these parties do not align with the principles of social justice championed by BR Ambedkar and accused them of raising alliance discussions for electoral convenience rather than ideological alignment.

According to her, past experiences with coalition politics have not benefited the BSP. She stated that alliances in previous elections had weakened the party’s organizational strength instead of strengthening it. For this reason, she said, party workers are united in their resolve to fight the upcoming elections independently.

Mayawati emphasized that the focus should remain on rebuilding grassroots support and mobilizing voters rather than entertaining rumors about political partnerships.

Call for Focus Ahead of 2027 Elections

Encouraging party members to remain steadfast, she advised them not to be distracted by what she described as deliberate attempts to create uncertainty within the party’s ranks. She recalled the BSP’s majority victory in the 2007 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and said the organization should aim to replicate that success.

According to Mayawati, as the next election approaches, misinformation campaigns are likely to intensify. She urged workers at all levels to concentrate on strengthening the party’s outreach efforts and preparing for a vigorous campaign across the state.

Response to Delhi Bungalow Controversy

Mayawati also addressed criticism regarding the allocation of a Type-8 bungalow to her in Delhi. She stated that as a former chief minister and a party president with security concerns, such accommodation has been provided to her in the past as well.

She appealed for restraint in politicizing the issue, describing the controversy as unnecessary. With elections drawing nearer, she suggested, similar controversies may surface as part of broader attempts to weaken the BSP’s position.

Concluding her remarks, Mayawati called on party workers to stay focused and united. She underscored that disciplined preparation and organizational unity would be key as the BSP gears up for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
