Education – Uttarakhand Chief Minister Joins Students at Pariksha Pe Charcha Event
Education – Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday joined students at St. Agnes School on Nesvilla Road as part of the Prime Minister’s Pariksha Pe Charcha programme, an annual initiative aimed at easing examination-related stress and encouraging a healthy approach to learning among students across the country.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha had brought together students, parents, and teachers from every corner of India. He noted that what began as an interactive session has now evolved into a nationwide movement focused on education, confidence, and emotional balance during academic life.
A National Platform for Students and Parents
The Chief Minister highlighted that the programme has grown far beyond a simple discussion on exams. He said the Prime Minister’s message consistently reinforces the idea that examinations are an important phase of life but should never define a student’s self-worth or future. According to him, Pariksha Pe Charcha has helped reshape how families and schools view academic pressure, promoting understanding rather than fear.
He added that the scale of participation this year reflects the trust people place in the initiative and its relevance in today’s education system.
Lessons from School Life and Beyond
Sharing memories from his own school days, Dhami reminded students that school life is a unique and precious period that never comes back. He encouraged them to make the most of these years by maintaining a balance between studies and co-curricular activities such as sports, cultural programmes, and creative pursuits.
He stressed that all-round development plays a crucial role in shaping confident individuals and that learning extends well beyond textbooks and examinations.
Viewing Exams as Opportunities, Not Pressure
The Chief Minister described examinations as opportunities for students to test their preparation and inner strength. He urged them to approach exams with discipline, calmness, and self-belief, comparing the experience to that of a warrior who gives their best without fear.
He emphasized that success cannot be measured by marks alone and that life offers many paths to achievement. According to him, resilience, values, and skills are equally important in determining long-term success.
Advice for Students and Parents
Dhami encouraged students to set clear goals, identify their priorities, and move forward with a positive mindset. He advised them to avoid unnecessary stress and to focus on steady preparation rather than last-minute pressure.
He also made a direct appeal to parents, urging them to support their children without imposing unrealistic expectations. He cautioned against comparing children with others, saying such comparisons often create anxiety and undermine confidence rather than motivating improvement.
Record Participation Across the Country
According to figures shared by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s Office, more than 40 million students, teachers, and parents from across India have registered for Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026. Officials expect this year’s participation to surpass previous records, potentially setting a new global benchmark.
From Uttarakhand alone, around seven lakh students have taken part this year, along with over 53,000 teachers and more than 14,000 parents. This marks a significant increase compared to last year, when student participation stood at approximately 2.98 lakh.
State-Level Contribution Gains National Recognition
The Uttarakhand CMO also shared that students across the state created ten motivational videos as part of the programme’s activities. One of these videos has been selected for presentation at the national level.
The selected entry was created by Rohan Singh Rana, a student of Government Higher Secondary School in Pala Kurali, located in Jakholi Block of Rudraprayag district. His selection has earned him an invitation to attend the Prime Minister’s programme in Delhi, an achievement officials described as a moment of pride for Uttarakhand.
