RoadAccident –  A tragic road accident claimed eight lives and left two people seriously injured after a van and a truck collided head-on along the Sisaiya-Lakhimpur National Highway on Monday.

The deadly incident occurred between Unchgaon and Bharehta villages in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur district. According to local officials, the van was travelling from Lakhimpur towards Sisaiya when it crashed into an oncoming truck on the busy highway stretch.

Fatal Collision on Busy Highway

Authorities said the impact of the collision was severe, leading to the deaths of at least eight passengers at the scene. The accident caused panic among nearby residents and commuters, many of whom rushed to help before emergency teams arrived.

Police and rescue personnel quickly reached the spot after receiving information about the crash. Damaged vehicles remained stranded on the highway for some time, leading to traffic disruption in the area.

Injured Shifted to District Hospital

Two people who suffered critical injuries in the accident were immediately taken to the district hospital for treatment. Medical officials are closely monitoring their condition.

Circle Officer of Dhaurahra, Shamsher Bahadur Singh, confirmed that emergency assistance was provided without delay. Local authorities also coordinated rescue operations to clear the road and manage traffic movement after the incident.

Police officials have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. Preliminary reports suggest that the collision took place suddenly on the highway section connecting Sisaiya and Lakhimpur, though officials have not yet released detailed findings.
