LucknowFire – Engaged Couple Among Victims of Deadly Commercial Building Blaze

LucknowFire –   A devastating fire in Lucknow has left several families mourning the loss of loved ones, with one of the most heartbreaking stories emerging from the deaths of a young couple who were preparing to begin a new chapter of their lives together. The tragedy unfolded on Monday when a massive blaze tore through a commercial building, claiming 15 lives and leaving behind grief, unanswered questions, and growing concerns about safety standards.

Couple’s Wedding Plans End in Tragedy

Among those killed were 29-year-old 3D designer Nilesh Kumar and his fiancée, Anamika Samant. The two worked in the same building and had been looking forward to their upcoming marriage. Family members said wedding discussions had already begun, and both households were making preparations for future celebrations.

What was expected to be a joyful period for the families suddenly turned into an unimaginable loss. Relatives described the couple as deeply committed to one another and excited about their future together.

Another Family Member Also Lost Her Life

The tragedy became even more painful for Anamika’s family as her cousin, Somilya, also died in the fire. She was employed at a coaching institute operating within the same building.

The loss of three family members connected through close relationships has left relatives struggling to cope with the emotional impact of the incident. Family gatherings that were once focused on wedding arrangements have now become occasions of mourning.

Relatives Raise Questions Over Emergency Response

As investigations continue, family members have voiced concerns regarding the speed of emergency services during the crisis. Several relatives believe delays in rescue operations may have contributed to the high number of casualties.

According to Nilesh’s brother, Abhishek Kumar, the family first learned about the incident through a call from King George’s Medical University (KGMU). Shortly afterward, he was asked to identify his brother’s body.

Abhishek stated that both Nilesh and Anamika were employed as 3D designers and were present in the building when the fire broke out. He also questioned why alleged concerns regarding the structure had not been adequately addressed despite reportedly existing for years.

Allegations of Long-Ignored Safety Issues

Family members expressed frustration over what they described as a lack of accountability. They questioned whether previous concerns related to the building’s status and safety compliance had received sufficient attention from authorities.

According to relatives, stronger enforcement measures and earlier intervention might have prevented such a catastrophic outcome. They have urged officials to conduct a thorough investigation and determine responsibility wherever necessary.

Grieving Mother and Sister Demand Answers

Nilesh’s mother, overwhelmed by grief, spoke about the difficulties of accepting her son’s death. She expressed concern over the effectiveness of emergency arrangements and questioned whether quicker action could have saved lives.

His younger sister also alleged that firefighting teams reached the scene later than expected. She claimed that timely access to water and rescue equipment could have improved the chances of survival for many people trapped inside the building.

Their statements reflect a wider demand among affected families for a detailed review of emergency preparedness and response procedures.

A Relationship That Began at Work

Relatives recalled that Nilesh and Anamika first met while working together at an animation centre located inside the building. Over time, their professional connection developed into friendship and eventually a committed relationship.

Both families supported their decision to marry and had started discussing arrangements for the wedding. In a tragic coincidence, Anamika’s parents had travelled from West Bengal to Lucknow only days before the incident to meet Nilesh’s family and finalize plans for the future.

Instead of celebrating an upcoming marriage, the families now find themselves mourning a loss that has deeply affected everyone connected to the couple.

Investigation Continues

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials are expected to examine building safety measures, emergency response timelines, and possible lapses that may have contributed to the scale of the tragedy.

As the inquiry progresses, grieving families continue to seek answers while remembering the lives that were cut short in one of Lucknow’s most devastating fire incidents in recent years.
