FireIncident – A large fire broke out late at night at a tire and rim manufacturing unit in Bagpat district of Uttar Pradesh, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky and forcing nearby residents to leave their homes as a precaution. The incident occurred at the Hero Agriculture factory situated near Awas Vikas Colony along the Delhi-Saharanpur Highway. Authorities confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Fire Spreads Rapidly Across Factory Premises
According to initial information, the flames quickly spread through stacks of tires, rims, and axles stored within the facility. Due to the highly combustible nature of these materials, the fire intensified within minutes, making it difficult to control in the early stages. Residents living in adjoining colonies grew concerned as the fire began moving closer to residential areas, prompting local officials to initiate evacuations for safety.
Emergency Response and Firefighting Efforts
Firefighters and police teams reached the scene shortly after receiving alerts. At least five fire engines were deployed to contain the blaze. Fire personnel worked continuously for nearly two hours before managing to bring the situation under control. Their efforts prevented the fire from spreading further into nearby homes and industrial units.
Ramveer, the factory’s watchman, stated that he was not immediately aware of the incident and only learned about it after being informed by the police. By the time emergency services arrived, the fire had already engulfed a significant portion of the factory.
Possible Cause Under Investigation
Chief Fire Officer Amarendra Pratap Singh indicated that early findings suggest an electrical short circuit might have triggered the fire. However, he emphasized that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause. Officials are expected to inspect the site thoroughly, including electrical systems and safety compliance measures, before releasing a final report.
Similar Incident in Noida Raises Concerns
The Bagpat fire comes shortly after another major incident in Noida’s industrial area. About a week earlier, a factory near Sector 4 in the Harola locality caught fire during the early morning hours. The blaze reportedly began around 5:00 am and spread rapidly due to the presence of flammable materials stored inside the unit.
The sudden outbreak led to panic among workers, some of whom were trapped inside the building. Emergency responders faced challenges navigating the congested industrial zone while trying to rescue those inside.
Factory Fire Injures Dozens of Workers
In a separate incident on March 12, a serious fire broke out at Capital Power System Limited, an electric meter manufacturing facility in Noida. The fire started at approximately 5:30 am and quickly engulfed the three-storey building. Out of around 250 employees present during the night shift, at least 37 sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that thick smoke could be seen from several kilometers away, and rescue teams had to act swiftly to evacuate workers trapped on different floors. Multiple agencies participated in the emergency response, highlighting the scale of the incident.
Growing Focus on Industrial Safety Measures
These consecutive fire incidents have raised fresh concerns about safety standards in industrial units across Uttar Pradesh. Experts point out that electrical faults, poor maintenance, and storage of flammable materials are common risk factors in such environments.
Authorities are expected to tighten inspections and enforce stricter compliance with fire safety norms in factories and manufacturing hubs. Regular audits, proper storage practices, and updated emergency protocols are seen as essential steps to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
