Continued Action Against Similar Cases

The latest arrests come as law enforcement agencies in Uttar Pradesh continue action against people accused in cow slaughter-related cases. Police have indicated that operations are being carried out in several districts whenever credible information is received.

Earlier Encounter in Shahjahanpur

In a separate incident reported in June, police arrested two wanted suspects during a joint operation in Shahjahanpur district. The operation involved the Special Operations Group (SOG), the Surveillance Cell, and Kant Police after officers received information about the presence of two men wanted in cow slaughter-related cases.

According to police, the accused were carrying cash rewards of ₹10,000 each and had also been booked under the Gangster Act. Officials alleged that the suspects attempted to escape when the police team arrived and that two individuals opened fire on the officers.

Police stated that Mohammad Shakir sustained bullet injuries to both legs during the encounter, while his associate, Dharmveer, was arrested after being surrounded by the police team. Authorities also reported recovering illegal country-made pistols, live cartridges, and a mobile phone from their possession. Both accused were identified as residents of Bareilly district.

Investigations in both cases are continuing, and police have said that further action will depend on the evidence collected during the ongoing inquiry
