One of Bradman’s Australian Test caps was given to a fellow Test cricketer by the legendary player, and it has been in the family’s possession for almost 70 years. Bradman’s Test cap was not put up for auction or put on display for the general public to purchase.

Lee Hames of Lloyds Auctions said, “This is a real piece of cricket history that Sir Donald Bradman personally gifted.”

“Its uninterrupted family ownership for 75 years and its direct link to ‘The Don’ make it one of the most important Bradman-related pieces to come to auction,” he said.

Fans, museums, organizations, and private collectors from across the world will be interested in the headgear when it is put up for sale. When Bradman faced the first Indian side to visit Australia in the 1947–48 series, he wore the headgear. Bradman scored 715 runs in six innings throughout the series.

The record price for a Baggy Green hat sold at auction is held by Shane Warne. Warne only wore one leg spinner’s hat, which was sold to the Commonwealth Bank for $1,007,500 to support emergency services fighting the 2019–20 bushfires.

On August 27, 1908, Donald Bradman was born in New South Wales. On February 25, 2001, the renowned cricket player died in Adelaide at the age of 92.

In the November 1928 Brisbane Test, the legendary hitter made his Test debut for Australia against England.

Bradman amassed 6996 runs at an incredible average of 99.94 in 52 Test matches and 80 innings, which included 13 half-centuries and 29 hundreds.

The renowned cricket player scored 28067 runs in 234 matches over 338 innings in First-Class cricket. With 117 hundreds and 69 half-centuries, the right-handed hitter had an incredible average of 95.14.
