Crime Branch –Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has arrested two alleged members linked to the Goldy Brar-Lipin Nehra gang during a coordinated operation, recovering a cache of firearms and ammunition that investigators believe was intended for use in organised criminal activities. Officials said the arrests mark an important breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle interstate networks involved in illegal arms supply, extortion and violent offences.

Joint Operation Leads to Arrests

The suspects have been identified as 36-year-old Randeep, also known as Rinku, from Jhajjar, Haryana, and 23-year-old Hitesh Kumar, a resident of Rewari, Haryana. They were taken into custody during a joint operation conducted by the Delhi Police Crime Branch and its Anti-Gangster Squad. Police also seized the Toyota Hilux vehicle in which the two men were travelling at the time of their arrest.

During the operation, officers recovered six sophisticated firearms, two single-shot pistols and eight live cartridges. The seized weapons have been sent for forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

Alleged Role in Gang Activities

According to investigators, both accused allegedly played an important role in the gang’s illegal operations. Police suspect they were responsible for transporting illicit weapons and delivering extortion money to gang members under instructions from Lipin Nehra. Authorities also believe the duo had links to several firing incidents connected to extortion cases reported in Haryana.

Officials are questioning the accused to trace the origin of the recovered firearms and identify other individuals associated with the criminal network. Investigators are also attempting to uncover the full supply chain used to procure and distribute illegal weapons.

Extortion Case Under Investigation

Police said one of the arrested men is accused of threatening a businessman based in Haryana while allegedly demanding an extortion payment of Rs 1 crore. The threats were reportedly issued last year along with other associates, allegedly following directions from Lipin Nehra.

During the investigation, officers found indications that Nehra, who is believed to be operating from Canada, was communicating with associates in India through an encrypted messaging platform. Authorities suspect these communications were used to coordinate the movement and collection of illegal arms and ammunition.

Investigators claim Randeep and Hitesh had been assigned the task of collecting a consignment of weapons on behalf of the syndicate before their arrest.

Surveillance Helped Crack the Network

Delhi Police said the Anti-Gangster Squad had intensified surveillance following an increase in organised crime, extortion cases and illegal firearm incidents across Delhi and the National Capital Region. Special teams gathered intelligence on suspected gang members, monitored their movements and developed information through confidential sources over an extended period.

Based on specific intelligence inputs, officers laid a trap near UER-II at Tajpur in Dwarka. When the suspects arrived in the Toyota Hilux, the police intercepted the vehicle. According to officials, both men attempted to escape but were quickly restrained and arrested by the raiding team.

Focus on Arms Supply Chain

The investigation is now centred on identifying the source of the recovered weapons and understanding how illegal consignments were transported across states. Police are also examining the gang’s operational methods, including how firearms were allegedly smuggled for use in gang rivalries and how the network targeted business owners through intimidation and extortion.

Officials said further arrests may follow as investigators continue to examine digital evidence, financial transactions and the wider criminal network connected to the case.
