Record Footfall During Weekend

The sharp rise in pilgrim arrivals began on Friday and continued throughout the weekend. The highest attendance was recorded on Sunday, when 91,793 devotees completed darshan. The heavy inflow continued into Monday, with more than 61,700 pilgrims having darshan by 6 p.m. Officials also confirmed that the backlog created during the weekend had been cleared by giving priority to general devotees while keeping VIP interruptions to a minimum.

Technology Supports Crowd Monitoring

Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said that careful planning and close coordination among various departments played a major role in handling the large crowds efficiently. He highlighted the contribution of the AI-powered Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC), which allowed officials to monitor crowd movement in real time and make quick operational decisions whenever required.

The official also appreciated the efforts of CVSO Murali Krishna and SP Subba Rayudu along with their respective teams, whose coordinated action helped regulate queues, improve crowd flow and maintain safety across the temple premises during the peak rush.

Extensive Arrangements for Devotees

To ensure the comfort of waiting pilgrims, TTD expanded its support facilities across the temple complex. Authorities established 29 queue blocks and arranged continuous distribution of free meals, drinking water and beverages throughout the day and night.

Medical services were also strengthened with mobile healthcare units stationed at multiple locations. Temporary shelters, including pandals and facilities at the Narayanagiri sheds, were made available to provide protection from the weather and allow devotees to rest while waiting for darshan. Officials said these arrangements helped improve the overall experience despite the unusually high turnout.

Laddu Distribution and Tonsure Services Remain Busy

Along with darshan, other temple services also witnessed a significant increase in demand. Daily laddu distribution remained exceptionally high, with sales ranging between 4.2 lakh and 4.6 lakh each day during the peak period.

The temple’s tonsure facilities also recorded heavy participation, with between 30,000 and 49,000 devotees offering their hair as part of their religious vows. Temple authorities ensured these services continued without major disruption by deploying additional staff wherever necessary.

Priority Given to General Pilgrims

Due to the extraordinary number of visitors, Sarva Darshan pilgrims experienced waiting periods ranging from 18 to 24 hours. Queue lines extended up to the Sila Thoranam area during the busiest hours. Even with the prolonged waiting time, officials maintained systematic queue management and continued providing food, drinking water and medical assistance to devotees.

TTD also maintained strict restrictions on VIP break darshan during the peak rush, allowing a greater number of general pilgrims to receive timely access to the temple. Officials said this approach played a key role in reducing congestion and ensuring that the pilgrimage remained orderly despite record-breaking footfall.
