SEOTrends – Indian Workers Show Strongest Job Security Confidence in APAC
SEOTrends – India’s workforce has emerged as one of the most confident globally when it comes to job security, according to a new report released by ADP Research. Nearly 30 percent of Indian employees believe their jobs are secure, placing the country third worldwide and making it the highest-ranked nation in the Asia-Pacific region on this measure. Despite this positive outlook, the findings indicate that concerns about long-term career stability continue to exist among many workers.

India Leads Asia-Pacific in Job Security Confidence
The report found that only 18 percent of employees across the Asia-Pacific region feel confident about the long-term security of their jobs. India stood out significantly from the regional average, reflecting stronger confidence among its workforce.
Globally, the picture remains mixed. Just 22 percent of workers strongly agreed that their current roles are safe from being eliminated in the future. Researchers noted that confidence in job security is closely linked to employee commitment and workplace performance. Workers who feel secure are far more likely to stay with their employers, remain engaged in their roles, and report higher productivity levels.
Changing Nature of Work Raises New Questions
While employment opportunities have improved in many sectors, the report suggests that workers are increasingly focused on whether their skills and roles will remain relevant in a rapidly evolving job market.
According to Rahul Goyal, Managing Director of ADP India and Southeast Asia, employees today are not only concerned about retaining their jobs but also about how technological advancements may reshape their professions. As automation, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation continue to influence workplaces, many workers are evaluating whether their current positions will continue to exist in the years ahead.
Upskilling Seen as Key to Future Employability
The report emphasizes the growing importance of continuous learning and professional development. Experts believe that employees must regularly upgrade their skills to remain competitive in a changing employment landscape.
At the same time, organizations are being encouraged to communicate more clearly about how job roles are evolving. Greater transparency from employers can help workers understand future expectations and prepare for changes more effectively.
Industry leaders suggest that investment in training programs, workforce development initiatives, and skill enhancement efforts will play a critical role in improving employability and supporting long-term business growth. These measures can also help strengthen workforce resilience and maintain productivity as industries adapt to new technologies.
Significant Differences Across Job Categories
The study also highlighted notable variations in job security confidence based on the nature of work. Employees in knowledge-based professions reported the highest levels of confidence, with 37 percent expressing a strong sense of job security.
In comparison, workers engaged in skilled task-based roles recorded a confidence level of 18 percent, while those performing repetitive tasks reported a similar figure of 17 percent. The findings suggest that employees in roles requiring specialized knowledge may feel better positioned to adapt to changing workplace demands.
Sector-Wise Trends Across the Region
Across the Asia-Pacific region, perceptions of job security differed considerably between industries. Employees working in finance and insurance reported the strongest confidence in the stability of their jobs. On the other hand, workers in accommodation and food services expressed the lowest levels of confidence regarding long-term employment security.
The report underlines the importance of adapting to workplace transformation through skill development, communication, and strategic workforce planning. As technology continues to reshape industries, both employers and employees are expected to play an active role in ensuring future career sustainability.
