Massive Security Deployment Planned Across Venue

According to senior police officials, nearly 4,000 security personnel will be stationed across the Brigade Parade Ground and nearby areas to maintain order and ensure smooth movement during the ceremony. The sprawling ground, spread over more than 900 acres, has been divided into nearly 30 separate sectors to strengthen monitoring and crowd control measures.

Each sector will remain under the supervision of senior officers holding the rank of deputy commissioner or assistant commissioner. Police officials stated that the deployment strategy has been designed to handle large crowds while maintaining strict vigilance throughout the event.

Top BJP Leaders Expected to Attend Ceremony

The swearing-in programme is expected to witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The anticipated attendance of high-profile political figures has prompted authorities to intensify security planning at multiple levels.

Officials indicated that additional layers of protection may also be introduced depending on the final list of attendees and crowd estimates closer to the ceremony date.

Surveillance Measures Strengthened Around Brigade Ground

Police headquarters at Lalbazar recently conducted a detailed review meeting to finalise the security arrangements for the event. Authorities have planned strict entry checks at all access points leading into the venue.

Door-frame metal detectors and handheld scanning devices will be installed to screen visitors before entry. In addition, CCTV surveillance systems will continuously monitor activities across the entire ground and surrounding areas.

Officials also confirmed that surveillance teams would keep watch from nearby rooftops to detect any suspicious activity. Security agencies are aiming to ensure that no prohibited or hazardous materials enter the venue during the programme.

Central Forces May Be Deployed If Necessary

Police sources stated that Central Armed Police Forces could also be brought in if the situation requires additional reinforcement. Authorities are keeping contingency plans ready to respond quickly to any emergency or unexpected crowd-related developments.

The security strategy includes coordination between city police, traffic personnel and intelligence units to ensure smooth management throughout the ceremony period. Officials are also expected to remain on high alert before and after the event due to the political significance of the occasion.

Traffic Restrictions Likely Around Central Kolkata

Traffic movement around Brigade Parade Ground and adjoining roads may face restrictions during the event. Police officials said diversions could be introduced in several parts of central Kolkata to prevent congestion and maintain uninterrupted movement for emergency services and VIP convoys.

Residents and commuters have been advised to stay updated on traffic advisories that may be issued ahead of the ceremony. Authorities are expected to release detailed route plans and alternative travel arrangements closer to the event date.
