NEETMissingCase – An 18-year-old student from Maharashtra has been missing for several days after reportedly leaving home following the declaration of his NEET examination result. Police are investigating the case by tracking his movements through CCTV footage and speaking with people connected to him as efforts continue to locate the teenager.
Aditya Rathod, a resident of the Nath Road locality in Parli Vaijnath, disappeared on July 17, a day after the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results were announced. Investigators believe he may have travelled by train after leaving his home, where he reportedly left behind his mobile phone before departing with a small bag and a change of clothes.
CCTV Footage Provides Key Lead
According to officials from the Parli City Police, CCTV recordings captured Aditya at the local railway station shortly after he left home. Based on the available footage, investigators suspect that he boarded a train heading towards Panvel and may have continued his journey in the direction of Pune. Police teams are examining travel routes and collecting additional information that could help determine his whereabouts.
The footage has become an important part of the investigation as authorities attempt to reconstruct his movements after he left Parli. Officials are also coordinating with other agencies to verify whether he travelled beyond the locations identified so far.
Exam Result Believed to Have Affected Student
Police said Aditya had been preparing for a medical career and had spent the past year studying in Latur while attending coaching classes for the NEET examination. He had also completed his Class 12 studies during the same period.
The NEET result, declared on July 16, showed that he had secured 131 marks. Investigators believe he was disappointed with the outcome and may have been under emotional stress after receiving a score lower than he had expected. However, authorities have not drawn any final conclusions regarding the circumstances behind his disappearance and are continuing their inquiry.
Family Reported Him Missing
When Aditya did not return home, his family began searching for him in nearby areas and contacted relatives and acquaintances in an effort to trace him. After repeated attempts failed to locate him, his father, Bhagwan Rathod, approached the Parli City Police Station and registered a missing person complaint on July 18.
Since then, the family has been anxiously waiting for information while appealing for any leads that could help bring him home safely.
Police Expand Investigation
As part of the ongoing investigation, police have visited the coaching institute in Latur where Aditya was preparing for the entrance examination. Officers have questioned staff members and people who interacted with him regularly to understand his recent routine and identify anyone he may have contacted before leaving.
Investigators are also speaking with friends and classmates while examining available technical evidence. Because Aditya intentionally left his mobile phone at home, officers are relying on alternative sources of information, including surveillance footage and witness accounts, to trace his movements.
Police have urged anyone with credible information related to the missing student to contact the nearest police station or inform the investigating team immediately. Authorities have assured that all available resources are being used as the search continues.
