Entertainment – Dheeraj Dhoopar Says Lock Upp Rivalry Should Not Become Personal

Entertainment –Dheeraj Dhoopar has responded to the criticism and personal remarks made by Harshad Chopra after his exit from Lock Upp Season 2, saying that disagreements inside a reality show should remain limited to the competition and not turn into personal conflicts.

Dheeraj dhoopar lock upp rivalry response

Dheeraj addressed the issue during a recent interaction, where he shared his perspective on the events that unfolded after Harshad’s elimination. According to the actor, every participant enters a reality show with an individual strategy, and game-related decisions should not be interpreted as personal attacks. He said the competition demands independent thinking and that contestants must accept both success and setbacks with maturity.

Dheeraj defends his independent gameplay

Speaking about his approach throughout the season, Dheeraj stated that he never allowed anyone else to dictate his decisions inside the house. He maintained that every move he made reflected his own judgment rather than outside influence or pressure from fellow contestants.

He also dismissed the suggestion that his choices were driven by Harshad’s expectations. Dheeraj explained that he had been clear from the beginning that he would play according to his own understanding of the game. In his view, reality shows are designed around individual strategies, making it natural for contestants to prioritize their own plans over personal equations.

Clarifies his bond with Shivangi Joshi

Addressing discussions surrounding fellow contestant Shivangi Joshi, Dheeraj said his support for her was based solely on their friendship. He clarified that she remained important to him because of their personal bond and not because anyone else expected him to stand by her.

According to Dheeraj, Harshad repeatedly attempted to influence his decisions, including encouraging him to place Shivangi at the center of his strategy. However, he said his friendship with Shivangi existed independently and was never shaped by another contestant’s opinions or suggestions.

Calls for maturity after elimination

Reacting to Harshad’s reported remarks and gestures following his eviction, Dheeraj expressed disappointment over the way the situation unfolded. He said that while disagreements are common in competitive reality shows, contestants should avoid taking them beyond the boundaries of the game.

Dheeraj added that he did not understand why emotions escalated to such a personal level. He stressed that nominations and eliminations are an inevitable part of every reality competition and that participants should accept the outcome with composure rather than resentment.

Questions why he became the main target

The actor also raised questions about why Harshad appeared to hold him primarily responsible for the elimination despite receiving votes from several contestants. Dheeraj pointed out that multiple housemates had voted against Harshad, making it unfair to single out one individual for the result.

He suggested that Harshad may have viewed his vote as a betrayal, which possibly contributed to the frustration expressed after leaving the show. Even so, Dheeraj insisted that his decision was based entirely on game strategy and not on any personal differences.

Mentions differing statements after a task

During the conversation, Dheeraj further claimed that Harshad gave contrasting opinions about Shivangi’s performance following one of the show’s tasks. He alleged that the comments made publicly differed from those expressed privately, leading him to question the consistency of Harshad’s stance during the competition.

Despite the disagreement, Dheeraj reiterated that he has no personal agenda against Harshad. He maintained that every contestant enters a reality show to compete, make strategic decisions, and improve their chances of staying in the game. In his opinion, those decisions should be viewed within the context of the competition rather than treated as personal betrayals.
