NEET Exam Protest – Congress Demonstration Escalates Near BJP Office in Jaipur

NEET Exam Protest – Public anger over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination intensified in Jaipur on Thursday as Congress workers staged a large protest march towards the BJP state headquarters, demanding accountability from the central government and action against officials linked to the examination controversy.

Neet exam protest jaipur bjp office

Hundreds of Congress supporters gathered in the Rajasthan capital carrying banners, placards, and posters while raising slogans over the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination. The protest, led by Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Govind Singh Dotasra, was halted by police barricades near Shaheed Smarak as demonstrators attempted to move towards the BJP headquarters.

Police Use Water Cannons to Control Demonstrators

Tension increased after several protesters reportedly climbed over barricades and tried to advance further during the march. Police personnel responded by using water cannons to disperse the crowd and prevent them from reaching the BJP office.

Amid the commotion, Congress workers were seen lifting Dotasra onto their shoulders while slogans continued against the Union government and the National Testing Agency (NTA). Some demonstrators also engaged in heated exchanges with security personnel during the standoff.

According to party representatives, a few Congress workers sustained minor injuries during the protest and were later taken to SMS Hospital for medical treatment.

Congress Demands Education Minister’s Resignation

Before the march began, Dotasra addressed party workers and strongly criticized the handling of the NEET examination process. He alleged that repeated controversies surrounding the medical entrance test had weakened public confidence in the NTA.

The Congress leader demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and called for the dissolution of the National Testing Agency. He further stated that strict action should be taken against those allegedly involved in the paper leak case.

Dotasra also insisted that the ongoing Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry should be conducted under court supervision to ensure transparency and fairness in the investigation process.

Protest Draws Participation from Youth and Women

The demonstration witnessed participation from a large number of women Congress workers along with youths dressed as medical students. Protesters claimed that the alleged examination leak had negatively impacted the future of lakhs of students who appeared for the highly competitive medical entrance examination.

Former Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas also joined the agitation and staged a dharna outside the Police Commissionerate near Shaheed Smarak during the protest.

Congress leader Abhishek Chaudhary accused the police administration of preventing young protesters from reaching the BJP headquarters. He said the party would continue its agitation until action is taken in connection with the alleged irregularities.

NEET-UG 2026 Examination Under Investigation

The NEET-UG 2026 examination, conducted on May 3 for admission to undergraduate medical courses across the country, was cancelled shortly afterward following allegations of a paper leak and irregularities in the examination process.

The controversy has sparked political debate across several states, with opposition parties questioning the functioning of examination authorities and demanding greater accountability.

The central government has already directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to carry out a detailed probe into the alleged misconduct linked to the examination. Officials are currently examining multiple aspects of the case as pressure continues to mount from students, parents, and political groups demanding a transparent investigation.
