Murder Case – Delivery Worker Arrested After Wife Found Dead in Delhi Home

Murder Case – A 24-year-old delivery worker has been taken into custody for allegedly killing his 20-year-old wife at their residence in Delhi’s Munirka area. The arrest followed a call to the police emergency helpline after one of the accused’s friends informed authorities that he had allegedly confessed to the crime and sought assistance in disposing of the victim’s body.

Emergency Call Led Police to the Accused

According to Delhi Police, Kishangarh Police Station received a PCR call on August 2 from a man who claimed that his friend had admitted to murdering his wife and was asking for help to remove the body. Acting on the information, a police team immediately reached the Pal Dairy locality in Munirka.

The caller identified the accused, Anurag, also known as Abhishek, who was standing outside his residence when officers arrived. Police detained him at the scene before beginning further inquiries into the incident.

Friend Reported Disturbing Confession

During questioning, the complainant told investigators that he had received a phone call from the accused late on the night of August 1, asking him to come to the house urgently. When he reached the residence, the accused allegedly led him to a room where he saw Kanika lying motionless on a bed surrounded by blood.

Police said the victim had sustained multiple injuries. The complainant further stated that the accused allegedly admitted to killing his wife and repeatedly urged him to assist in disposing of the body to avoid being caught.

Quick Thinking Helped Alert Authorities

Investigators said the complainant managed to recover his mobile phone by telling the accused that he needed to call his family members to open the house gate. Once he moved upstairs, he immediately contacted the 112 emergency helpline and informed police about the situation.

Police officers reached the residence without delay and entered the house along with the complainant and the accused. Inside, they found Kanika lying on the bed in a pool of blood. She was immediately taken to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Forensic Examination Underway

After the body was recovered, police secured the crime scene to preserve evidence. Specialists from the Crime Team and the Forensic Science Laboratory were called to conduct a detailed examination of the room and collect material that could assist the investigation.

Officials said forensic findings, witness statements, and other evidence gathered from the scene will play an important role in determining the sequence of events leading to the woman’s death.

Case Registered Under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita

Based on the complainant’s statement and the preliminary evidence collected during the investigation, police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Kishangarh Police Station.

Authorities confirmed that the accused has been formally arrested and remains in police custody while the investigation continues. Officers are examining all aspects of the case, including the circumstances that may have led to the alleged crime.

Police also said that Kanika was a homemaker and had married the accused in 2023. Investigators are continuing to question witnesses and gather additional evidence before filing the next stages of the case.
